Nice house

We don’t go to the OBX to stay in the house……but that said we found the Carolinian II to be well situated and comfortable. Its deck has a wonderful view of the ocean and its pool offered great protection on windy/cool days. Would definitely rent again and gladly recommend it!

Location

Listing had no mention of public access to beach sharing driveway to house nor entrance to beach. So buyer beware and choose off season. Pool needs a lot of upkeep work. Weeds were growing around the pool between concrete edge and skimmer didn’t work. Hopefully they fix that and one shower didn’t work. Could be cleaner. Not as well stocked in kitchen as other houses we’ve rented. This is our 5th.

Great Location

Spacious home except for kitchen. Loved being so close to the beach. Definitely needed some deep cleaning but overall it was a very nice stay.

Great location

Our May 30, 2020 stay was great. Easy check in. Great views of ocean from living room and 2 mid-level bedrooms. For the price, house should have come with some necessities like salt/ pepper or coffee filters that fit its coffee maker. Overall, it was a clean house with great ocean views where we enjoyed having a relaxing week!

Wonderful Home, Wonderful Week

We had a great week staying in this house. There was a lot of space for everyone and the location was excellent. We could see Jennette's Pier from the house and even walked there along the beach one afternoon. The views were great and the house was warm and welcoming. Sunrise views were amazing and there were even dolphins feeding along the shore most mornings. In the off season it was quiet and peaceful. There is a public beach access right next to the house, which could lead to a lot of traffic during the busy months. A couple things to be aware of before you rent... The hot tub is NOT located on the middle deck as pictured. This was a huge selling point for us to be able to sit in the hot tub and see the ocean. It was actually a huge selling feature when we made our house rental pick - my husband and I were hoping we could walk out our bedroom door to the hot tub and the ocean, but when we arrived, the hot tub was actually on the ground floor near the pool. It was still nice, but not what we were expecting. The photos should be updated. The listing also said there was a fully stocked kitchen. We have rented houses from VRBO several times. When a house is listed like this it has always included paper towel, dish soap, napkins, tissues, etc. We were very disappointed when we arrived to find there was one roll of paper towel and one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, and that was it. On our 2nd day we needed to make a grocery store run to get paper towel, napkins, dish soap, dish washer detergent, facial tissues, tin foil, and garbage bags. Had I known the house did not have these items I could have brought some from home instead of needing to disrupt our vacation with a store run. Other than those two things, everything was great! I would rent this house again if we were traveling to OBX in the off season!
