Palazzo Lieto was built in 1754 by Gaetano Lieto, Duke of Polignano and represents an important historical memory of the anti-Bourbon movements of 1848. On May 15, in fact, the rioters who had found refuge in the Palace suffered the assault, with cannon shots, of Swiss troops.
