If you're looking for nature, you're in the right place, surrounded by the countryside and the birds. If you enjoy hiking, trails start from the cottage (many marked trail maps are available).
The Roanne coast is not far away, with its vineyards and all its small, characterful villages: St. Haon-le-Vieux, Ambièrle, St. Jean, St. Maurice.
For a day of leisure, Lake Villerest is nearby, and for a beautiful walk, the Renaison dams.
There are also some very pretty villages in the Forez region: Néronde, Pouilly-les-Feurs, Pommiers, etc.
