Aside from the wasp/hornet infestation (mostly outside with nests and majority of movement on the parking side of the caboose), the caboose was well done, clean and cozy. We unfortunately were only able to sweat it out for one night (and it was under much debate) out of the four we had planned because of the number of wasps/hornets, and when we noticed another one inside right on the wall by the fold-out bed, we packed up and left. It unfortunately immediately ruined our first impressions and a lot of the experience for my kids (and me), having to dodge the wasps around and in the caboose caused a lot of stress. Otherwise it was a beautiful area and close enough to Ash Cave and Logan. Thankfully none of us were stung. We enjoyed the view of the horses running across the hill across the street, and a friendly grey and white cat who visited us there. The stars were amazing at night; I wish we could have stayed longer and without the fear of being stung to take advantage of the cute deck, grill, and shared fire pit. I understand it’s early in season and wasps are not necessarily an easy problem to fix, but as a single mom I would have really appreciated some kind of refund for the spring break trip we were so excited about that turned out to be an unsafe place for us to stay. I would take lady bugs any day (of which there are inside also), but wasps are on a totally different level.
