The property has had a major refurb and is almost too good to be true. It was very busy saturday/sunday but the staff were always available and helpful. Room 19 is “accessible” which means a wet room bathroom and lots of space. Really a lovely place to stay but maybe too dog friendly?? Not cheap but worth every penny. Nice breakfast and nice breakfast service.

Nice hotel on outskirts of Newbury. Staff on arrival very nice and helpful. Our room in main building surprisingly very quiet as it’s above bar area. Like to have window open over night, however couldn’t as noise from fans over kitchens. Restaurant-dinner decent selection and nice food, breakfast- again good selection. Dog friendly but no separate areas for eating.

Stopped her overnight on return home after ferry to Portsmouth. Staff helpful with some last minute requests. Room a bit small but well equipped. Could do with more space for belongings if staying for more than one night. Lovely to find fresh milk left outside room for us to use in morning. Very good, wide, choice at breakfast. Had meal in evening food good, just disappointed that dish I chose was not available.
