I was honestly impressed by the room. For the price you can definitely do a lot worse. The clean room, bed, fridge (with freezer), TV (with accessible HDMI ports), aircon, and bathtub were much appreciated.
If you're driving to The Grand Hotel, make sure you factor in about $35-42 per night for parking at the nearby secure parking lot.
The building itself is quite old. The hallway floors creak, paint is flaking on hallways walls, that sort of thing. However, the owners have done well to modernise the rooms themselves.
I wish I'd been able to experience the bar and bistro, but they weren't available on Christmas day.
I can recommend The Grand Hotel for a short stay.
