The only criticism we have is the decor and furnishings in the rooms are not just tired but exhausted. Needs redecorated!! That’s the only thing that let it down! The food was excellent!

The room was huge,bed was comfortable. Shower was warm. Except for the rain, we liked Newton Steward.

It was clean and the staff offered to help with any bags or see us to our room. We stayed one night on our way through town. This is an old building. It was exactly what we expected and needed. This hostelry is actually located in Kircowan with easy access to Wigtown for the book festival as well as fishing and hunting
We were travelling to Wigtown so didn’t spend a lot of time in Newton Stewart itself.
The buses aren't reliable re carrying bikes, so it is hard to plan in advance.
