The room was luxurious. The breakfast was delicious, with nice views of the greenery and wildlife. All this was just a sideshow compared to our wonderful hosts who would be embarrassed to read this. They felt like old friends and if I'm ever in the area, wouldnt hesitate to come back.
If I could give the "staff" more than five stars, I would. Anni is the owner and she is very welcoming, as well as funny and kind. The property is very cozy and secluded. I spent almost my entire stay stuck in bed with a cold, but my family tells me the local area and restaurants are great.
Just back from a wonderful stay, the surroundings are beautiful, the house itself is warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. We so enjoyed curling up by the fire in the lounge in the evening and the bed was so comfortable. Annie couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful, breakfast was excellent especially with the view out to the bird feeder so we could admire the wildlife while we ate. We look forward to the next time we have an excuse to visit!
In a lovely location, this stay was perfect in every respect. Large comfortable room & bathroom, friendly hosts, superb breakfast and a sumptuous lounge. The only negative was that we were unable to stay longer. Many thanks.
A great one night stay on the way to the far north in Scotland. A friendly greeting, lovely room and a delicious dinner with a licenced bar. All brilliant! We had been driving about 7 hours and went for a walk to the nearby waterfall to stretch our look legs before dinner. Lovely friendly hosts! Delicious breakfast too!
From the very moment I stepped in the door, I felt like I had just come "home".
It was my best night's sleep so far, on my trip.
If you are a stargazer be sure to step outside one evening,as Cairngorms is known as a Dark Sky designation and the sky was spectacular! Hike just down the road to enjoy the Waterfall.
Annie and her staff felt like old friends- what a pleasant sanctuary.... I am filled with gratitude
Annie and her pals were friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The B&B is in a great location in the heart of the Cairngorms and is perfect for walking holidays. We'd stay again!
Annie and Dave were delightful! They have created a lovely, comfortable atmosphere serving great food, enjoyable conversation, and a tidy, well equipped lodging.
Thank you, folks!
Our host Annie was so very welcoming! Had a wonderful stopover night here. Highly recommend. Lovely accommodation. Super friendliness. Amazing location not far off the A9. Splendid walks. Dog friendly. Would 100% go again
Such a wonderful base to explore the Cairngorms from. A really charming property, conveniently located to the A9 traffic route, with plenty of natural beauty right on the doorstep. Including the Falls of Truim, a mere 5 minute walk away!
The home cooked food was delicious and the room itself was extremely comfortable and very clean.
But the most important part of this review, is that from the moment i arrived, i felt very comfortable within the friendly atmosphere created by Annice & Dave. They really did ensure that i had everything i could want/need and were extra helpful with recommending what to do and see during my trip.
After a day out hiking/sightseeing, being able to come back and sit in front of the log fire with some genuinely lovely people was exactly what i wanted from this trip. So that is why i have booked to stay here again for my next visit to this region.
What an absolute diamond in Scotlands crown. We made the trip up in the hope that we might see the Aurora at some point, but alas it didn’t materialise whilst we were there and it now means we will definitely return until we do. That didn’t really matter in the end as our hosts made us so welcome that we really found it hard to leave, but know we will return and are sending our dates up as we type. Our room was spotless and extremely comfortable with all facilities you would want. Even though we came up in the colder weather our room was warm and cosy with views over the valley. Breakfast was amazing although I feel we have piled the pounds on and had to cut back a bit by the end of our stay. We had a special occasion whilst away and we asked Annie if we could have an evening meal cooked, to which we had a 3 course dinner which was really fantastic and the pudding topped with a candle as well. The log fire of an evening was really inviting in the guest lounge and spent every night sitting around it. This must be the only time away that we have not looked at the TV.
The area and surrounds are really something to see and pictures cant do them justice. Some attractions are shut this time of year but a trip to Aviemore for some shopping or the Dalwhinnie distillery or even the Highland Nature reserve are really good places to go and makes for an enjoyable journey. Our hosts pointed out an eatery in the next village that you probably might not have gone to, as is a transport café
Well positioned as a stop over back to Wales, but wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the wonderful hospitality of hosts. The room was spacious, (Stag) and 4 poster bed with views that were stunning. The bede was really comfortable. The evening meal was tasty and opportunity to share with fellow guests travelling tips was a bonus. Really good value for money.
We had a great two-night stay here. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely and plentiful on both days. We really loved getting to know the owner's dogs, and will definitely be returning in the future!
Our stay at Crubenbeg was excellent as always. It is a friendly, relaxing place to stay. The breakfast is amazing! Highly recommend it for a stay in the Highlands.
