Spacious house on the beach

This is a very spacious house for four and possibly for more a short walk from the beach, through some trees and directly to the water. Despite the highway in view, it was very quiet and was comfortable for our weekend stay. Despite the somewhat spare decor and slightly random kitchen, we had everything we needed. While it is an older house, there were minimal quirks and the location is excellent.

Not what it looked like on Vrbo

The house is a historical landmark and the air conditioning didn’t work well to cool the house and beds were uncomfortable.The path to the beach was not as clear as the photos.

Nice and relaxed

Its a perfect place for a family escape. The bay is nice and calm and almost feels like a private beach. The kids can learn to paddle a kayak safely and easily. Plenty of places to eat and a short drive to VA beach. The only negative was the mgmt company said the check-in info would be sent 3 days before check-in, but after a few back and forth emails it was clarified that the very helpful actual info comes the day of arrival.

Bring Kitchen Supplies!

I liked how quiet this spot was, definitely a calm beach experience. We enjoyed the Kayaks as well. It’s about 45 minute drive to VA Beach to get some sizable waves. Bring kitchen stuff, because the kitchen isn’t as stocked as it looks. You’ll need stuff to cook with, maybe even a pan, pot, pan for the oven, and some large bowls if you’re prepping food.

Easy commute to Naval Base

Just like thay stated. A dual family under renovation. If you want shiny granite and huge bathrooms you won't be happy. Larger than expected. Highly recommend this place if coming to visit family at Norfork Naval Base. Close to the base, beautiful beach. Kitchen is workable. Wish they had a few more drinking glasses and a can opener but stores were very close by and we were able to pick some up.
