Norham Castle The castle was built for the Bishop of Durham in 1121. Despite being dismantled, remodelled several times and suffering from Border warfare, it is still an impressive sight and one of the most complete defensive buildings on the Border. Viewed from the edge of the square in a large field on the north side of the B6470.

St. Cuthbert's Parish Church, Norham It is easy to see how this church, one of the longest parish churches I have seen, has built in several different periods. A religious house has stood on this site since the earlier part of the 9th century.

Breakfast was lovely and the rooms were spacious with plenty storage spots! Excellent location for our trip. Only small issue we had with it was the shower was very weak. Otherwise, no complaints!
