Possums Retreat - Private Spacious Cottage with Hydrotherapy Spa

Possums is a purpose-built one-bed cottage nestled among the bamboo and Macadamia trees in a garden setting on a 5-acre property on a hillside and is ideal for a peaceful, tranquil get away. Rejuvenate on the large deck while soaking up the sounds of nature or relax in the hydrotherapy spa. The property is close to town, the golf course and Baroon Pocket Dam. Enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring locally sourced products before exploring the surrounding area. Let us be your home away from home!

The retreat provides a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area.

Double French doors on either side of the wood burning stove lead out to the large deck offering a panoramic view of the garden and Jacaranda and Macadamia trees.

The bedroom overlooks the garden through French windows and has a Queen bed, reverse-cycle air-conditioner, ceiling fan and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower.

The hydrotherapy spa is on the fully enclosed and very private side deck and is for the exclusive use of the guests staying at Possums Retreat.

* Enough wood for the cold winter nights is provided for the fireplace and there is also a reverse-cycle air-conditioner and ceiling fan in the living room.

* We provide a delicious breakfast basket filled with local and home-made produce. From freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries to eggs from our chickens and fresh local seasonal fruit to milk and yoghurt from Maleny's award-winning dairy and cheese factory.

* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tank, and the water is perfectly safe to drink.

* Pets are allowed and we charge a pet fee. As we are semi-rural and part of a wildlife corridor, the greater property is not fenced, and all dogs are to remain on lead at all times when on the grounds. Possum's back deck is enclosed as is the the walkway and spa deck.

* There are pasture-fed free range chickens on the property.

We had the most relaxing, comfortable stay. The cottage was so clean and gorgeous. Kitchen has everything you'd need. The welcome basket of goodies was beautiful. Breakfast on the balcony, watching the birds was a highlight.

Excellent place for relaxation

Everything is provided, even a well stocked breakfast basket with home-made bread. Spacious house with a large veranda and a very private area for the spa. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby and only a 5 minute drive from Maleny center. Hosts Linda and Antony are very friendly and helpful..... thank you for everything. We definitely can recommend the Possum Retreat.

The perfect location

We arrived to the smell (and very soon after, the taste) of freshly-baked bread. The hosts had thought of everything, and our cottage was beautifully appointed, comfortable, and warm, with robes, a spa, a modern kitchen, and both air conditioning and a fireplace. We shared the surrounds - about three minutes from Maleny township - with chickens, kookaburras and wallabies. It was an ideal place to stay for time out and a bit of luxury. We’ll be back.

Gorgeous property with fire place and hydrotherapy spa

Possums retreat is absolutely gorgeous! It's in a great location and close to everything you need. The fire place and the hydrotherapy spa was a massive win for us. Most importantly, the communication with the owners was exceptional. They even supplied a hamper with fresh fruit, danishes, crossiants and a freshly homemade loaf of bread which was super delicious. Amazing weekend away!! A massive thanks to the Owners Linda and Antony. We'll be back for sure.

A very comfortable cottage

Before we arrived we were giver clear and detailed information about how to find our way to our cottage. Inside we found a basket with a fresh home-made loaf of bread, butter, condiments and cakes. Fresh eggs were also supplied in the full kitchen as was milk and juice. Melany is a few minutes away by car. A folder with places to go and menues for local restaurants was also supplied. We felt well looked after. Thank you.

Simply wonderful

We stayed for 2 nights in august 2023. Such a cosy cottage and the perfect place to unwind and relax. The hosts were wonderul and very atrentive to our needs. Beautiful just as you see in pics. Bath to die for with a outdoor view. Fantastic private Spa Area. Very comfortable & very clean. Fabulous deck with Webber ( a breakfast Webber plate for eggs would be great) You dog is made to feel so welcome like a queen with there own treats, bowls, blanket, towel & bed…!!! Nothing is forgotten Absolutely fantastic stay. Will definitely be returning to the cottage. The owner are lovely & nothing is too much trouble. The hamper & freshly made beads yummy. A Lovely Short Holiday

Relaxing Stay

Everything about this stay was just perfect - from the warm welcome by Linda and Antony, to the breakfast basket that contained (among other things) a freshly home-made loaf of bread that was still warm, to the relaxing outdoor spa, and the amazing location. We couldn’t fault our 3 days there, and we just wish we could have stayed longer!

Upon arrival the 1st thing I noticed was how beautifully presented the cottage was from the welcoming basket of local goodies to the crisp white bedding !! Instantly I was in heaven ❤️ our (2) Westie girls were welcomed with open arms ( which means everything to us ) loved our hosts … best getaway yet !!
