Summer Salt - Oceanfront Fun Just Steps to the Sand and Surf!

This unique oceanfront vacation home in Oak Island is ready for your getaway with enough space to sleep 11. When you’re not just outside Summer Salt’s backdoor taking in the sun and surf, the open floor plan of the house is great for family time!

The main floor includes 2 bedrooms, a full bath, a deck off the dining area on the street side, and a large oceanfront deck. The the upper floor has 3 more bedrooms, a full bath, and an oceanfront balcony off the upstairs primary bedroom. On the ground floor, there's an additional shower in the laundry room that is equipped with a full-size washer and dryer.

Enjoy your front row seats to sunrises and sunsets from the spacious oceanfront deck! The deck offers new rocking chairs, chaise loungers, and a picnic table.

Summer Salt is conveniently located on the beautiful west end of Oak Island and is just minutes from the mainland and 3 grocery stores – Publix, Lowes, and Food Lion. When you’re not relaxing and swimming at the beach, there’s so much more to do during your visit. Enjoy fishing at the Ocean Crest Fishing Pier, take a helicopter tour with High Tide Aviation, book a deep sea adventure with Oak Island Fishing Charters, check out Jungle Life Mini Golf and Oak Island Nature Center, visit the local beach shops and farmers market, climb to the top of the iconic Oak Island Lighthouse, and let someone else do the cooking while you enjoy all the great Oak Island restaurants! The quaint village of Southport on the Cape Fear River is just a 20-minute drive away with great shopping, restaurants, and sight-seeing. Named the most romantic coastal town.

October 2025…Just as beautiful in the fall. The weather was perfect ranging from 75 to 70. It was my mom‘s 81st birthday. This was the first time we all vacation together. The host responded timely to our questions. The beachfront house was lovely inside and out. The beach views were beyond our expectation. The beds were very comfortable. It was sad to say goodbye. From this, we promise to do something once a year together. Thank you Summer Salt!!!

The house is in a great location, private access to beach was a definite perk. The house is very clean and the kitchen well stocked. The hosts were very attentive and responded to all emails quickly. Only slight issue for my group of 65 year old women was the spiral staircase.

We loved this house! It was very cozy and comfortable and we literally were steps from the sand. It looked exactly as pictured and was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. And this is a great place for little kids (built-in baby gates at the stairs) and tons of sand toys and an inflatable pool. Plenty of beach chairs and towels too. The stairs, while they looked a little tricky in the picture, were very manageable and the view of the beach from the second floor balcony is definitely worth the climb. We used the bedrooms on the main floor but did go downstairs to use the washer/dryer. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive. We will definitely be back!!

Super responsive hosts!

Responsive hosts when we had questions. We had a minor faucet issue and the hosts immediately called in a great handyman to take care of the issue. This is a well cared for property in a perfectly glorious spot of Oak Island! I loved the stocked kitchen, spacious bedrooms and light-filled living room /main room.

Beach heaven!

My family loved their stay at “Summer Salt”! We loved being SO close to the beach. Even my elderly father was able to make it to the water to sit and cool his feet. The stairs to the top level are a little tricky but didn’t bother us. Haag and sons fish market is great and we really enjoyed taking the Fisher island ferry for a day trip to the aquarium and into Wilmington.

College Girlfriends Trip

What a great place to stay! So incredibly close to the water, great deck and perfect views. The kitchen was fully stocked with just about anything you could need and came with a decent amount of spices - the most that I've ever experienced with a rental. Summer Salt was great for our group. I will say the stairs aren't for everyone but the space totally worked for us. I cannot tell you how incredible it was to work with Melissa, the property owner. So incredibly welcoming, kind, and prompt with answering questions about the property.

Would absolutely stay again!

We had a week long family stay here and would definitely stay again. Location is perfection. You are just steps from the beach. The porch is good size, we were even able to put a kiddie pool on the deck for when the kids (and adults got tired of the waves). The kitchen is well stocked meaning any size pot or pan or casserole dish you could possibly want. They even had a blender! The inside stairs are a bit tight for the huge suitcases so would recommend bringing a strong person or a reasonably sized bag (I of course over packed). Baby gates work well and lock…much appreciated. My husband likes to sleep in an ice box so he was a bit warm sleeping but they do provide an extra large stand up fan that you can move from room to room if needed. We also were there during a heat advisory…so kinda like…what do you expect at the beach in august!?! A truly great stay with very responsive hosts! We are most grateful and would absolutely stay again!
