Jack London Inn
2/10 Terrible
"Yes, all nearby locations and the Ferry to San Francisco were great."

Hyatt Place Emeryville/San Francisco Bay Area

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Berkeley Marina
6/10 Okay
"Check-in was quick. Unfortunately, the room was dirty with, i'm assuming, previous occupant's dirty undergarments and leftover food. I went back to let the staff know and was quickly assigned another room.
In the new room, we needed more shower towels, so we called room service and no one picked up the call. tried multiple times. I had to walk back to the check-in counter and let them know.
The facilities are out-dated. Seemed neglected. It felt like a college apartment. The only thing going for this location is the views of San Francisco city lights.
The professional pictures make it seem like a resort or higher level hotel, taking advantage of location on the bay... i don't thing it's worth it, considering how isolated it is, the condition of the area, and the difficulty in getting a good meal... won't be coming back here. "

Graduate by Hilton Berkeley
10/10 Excellent
"Great place if you’re visiting the Berkeley area or Cal in general. In walking distance of everything Cal related with great local spots everywhere. It’s a very old hotel and they have leaned into that, so if you want somewhere modern this isn’t for you, but if you want a piece of Berkeley history I highly recommend. "

Executive Inn & Suites Embarcadero Cove
10/10 Excellent
"It was an awesome stay in my healing process "

Sonesta Emeryville - San Francisco Bay Bridge
2/10 Terrible
"Really sneaky hotel. Staff at the front desk did not mention how much the parking was until after the deposit was paid, as a result they will lock you into it before disclosing what is collected within the deposit. Overall not straightforward at all and just shady business tactics. Property is old and not up to current day standards. The bathroom tub in our room had cracks snd shower curtains were messy. "

Dear Manny,
Thank you for your detailed explanation regarding the $259.16 authorization. I appreciate the transparency about how the third-party reservation was configured within your property management system and how the authorization was mistakenly placed on the billing share rather than the incidental share.
That said, I want to be very clear: Sheldonmpatterson@yahoo.com is a valid and active email address, and 408.705.8015 is my valid mobile phone number. Both are correct and fully operational.
Regarding the authorization, while I understand the internal explanation involving system shares and third-party billing structures, an authorization for the full room and tax amount—when the stay was already prepaid—creates unnecessary financial strain and inconvenience. Even if the amount does not ultimately post, an improper authorization can:
• Temporarily reduce available credit or accessible funds
• Trigger overdraft or over-limit fees
• Interfere with other pending financial obligations
• Cause reputational or credit-related complications in certain circumstances
It is important to note that unauthorized or improperly processed charges, even if temporary, may carry legal implications depending on their impact and duration. Consumers are protected under federal and state financial regulations regarding unauthorized transactions and improper billing practices."
