“A very pleasant and comfortable stay overall. The hotel is well located and easy to reach, with a parking garage directly connected to the building and shopping facilities right outside the door. Everything feels surprisingly spacious, probably because the hotel is located in an area that feels more like a commercial or industrial district than the centre of Locarno. The advantage is that there is plenty of space, and this is noticeable throughout the hotel. My room was spacious, very clean……

“We chose Hotel Montegrino Lake View largely because of the Expedia photographs and reviews, which created an impression of a modern hotel with good facilities and beautiful views. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. To be fair, our room was clean and the lake view from the balcony was lovely. However, the hotel itself was very basic, dated and tired, with little décor or comfort. There was no shower gel or hand soap, and the bedding consisted of sheets and an old brown blanket……
