Probably the worst hotel stay I've had since 2020! I've stayed at this Ibis many many times, mainly it has been positive (and i have left plenty of positive reviews) but this stay was terrible.
Tried to check in, they advised room not ready, be about 20-25 minutes. I could see a lot of other people waiting. I am patient, i sat and had a drink and allowed an hour to pass before going back to up to the desk. Room still not ready, they can offer me another one. I'll take it, I've used annual leave and have plans! I get into the room and it was clear IMMEDIATELY it had been poorly cleaned. It apppeared that there was dried sick on the carpet, stains, spills, muck, wrappers and a general smell. I go back to reception, i explain my plans are already in tatters, can my room be cleaned if i go out.
I get back later and the surfaces had been done, the room freshened and a towel placed over the staining. I appreciate it was probably the best they could do.
The hallways were so full of takeaway boxes and bottles, the guests the night before had obviously been party animals.
All staff i interacted with were friendly but this Ibis now seems beset with problems, it is either being understaffed on purpose, or cannot retain staff.
It will be my last stay at this hotel unless i see the reviews jump up.
Noone expects funfair and fanfair from a budget hotel, but being able to check in and having a clean room really is a minimum
