Thank you for sharing your candid comments. The back up of plumbing waste lines is not fun - whether at your own home or a vacation rental. Generally, prior to an event like this, there’s often warning signs like slow drains and we get them taken care of. We did not have any warning signs. So, as much as we try to prevent things like this from happening, the fact is, sometimes they do. We try to be cautious caretakers of these beautiful mid-century homes we represent, including JUANITA. But these beautiful mid-century homes also still have a fair amount of midcentury plumbing running out of them and under the streets of Palm Springs. And they can be temperamental. That’s why we caution all of our guests about what should and shouldn’t “get flushed.” All that said, this situation happened during your stay, which is truly unfortunate. And for that we apologize. While we never intend to have to move a customer, or worse, cancel a reservation, sometimes it is absolutely unavoidable. Due to the situation and the work required by a plumber and then our cleaning team, we offered you a generous refund, or to move you to another home for the final night of your stay. We’re glad you chose to stay for the last night of your trip. We did have the situation fixed by a licensed plumber including the exterior clean-out drain.
