The hotel room was no air conditioning which is not matched with the accommodation details as described when the booking was made. The room was way too hot to stay in even though a fan was provided and tough to sleep. Even worst was that the room was not closed in the first night when we get back to the hotel which is a serious security issue. I've tried multiple times to contact the manager and finally got a refund of ~ 20% of the total stay but the amount we paid for it not worth it and able to find a similar hotel with AC of similar price though.

Friendly and helpful staff. Martine look after me for the week. She greeted daily with a smile and kept my room spot less. Small room but perfect for solo traveling. Great location close to the Metro.

I recently stayed at the Rue de Lafayette Hotel in Paris for a quick overnight stop. Overall, it was a convenient and practical choice for a short stay, though it came with a few drawbacks. The location was excellent, easy to reach and close to public transport, which made getting around the city very simple. The welcome at reception was warm and efficient, and the staff made check-in smooth, which I appreciated after a long day of travel. The room itself was quite basic, with minimal furnishings and limited space, but it was clean and tidy, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, it did get rather hot during the night, but there is aircon. Another small issue was the soundproofing, you could hear pretty much everything from the bathroom, which wasn’t ideal for privacy. The lighting also caused some frustration, as the switches didn’t always seem to work properly. Despite these inconveniences, the hotel served its purpose well for a one-night stopover. It’s not a place I’d choose for a longer holiday or if I wanted a lot of comfort or amenities, but for a simple stay close to the city’s main attractions and transport links, it did the job.

Hotel LaFayette was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to Paris! My partner and I wanted a convenient place to stay located in a “lived in” (not touristy) part of the city while still being near dining, the metro, and things to do. Hotel LaFayette fit the bill exactly! The check-in experience went very smoothly even though we were later than anticipated due to a flight delay. Front desk staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Their team speaks both French and English, so for travelers who aren’t fluent in French, there are no concerns with getting checked in. The room we stayed in was quite small compared to an American hotel room, but we were constantly out in the city doing things so it fit our needs exactly - a place to come back to for a shower and bed. While the beds were a little firmer than my preferred taste, the location and price made our stay worth it! There is breakfast available at the hotel for a fee, but we did not end up trying it. Everything looked great and we saw many other hotel guests enjoying breakfast before heading out for the day. There is a cute Patisserie and Boulangerie just down the street near the closest Metro station as well as several restaurants for lunch and dinner. The location is highly walkable and we enjoyed ourselves very much!

Solid 3 star. Walkable to Gare du Nord, subway and high traffic areas. No air conditioning. The in-room portable fan wasn’t the best solution. The staff were great. Friendly and able to talk in English (without judging our poor French skills)

AWFUL STAY!! We stayed for 5 nights during summer where the air conditioning was broken the entire time. We also misplaced our room key on the first night and reception were unable to provide a replacement which meant for the remainder of the trip we had to go downstairs to get them to lock/unlock our room. And just to top things off after a fun day exploring Paris we came back to find that my medication which I had put in the fridge had been moved and put into the freezer, making it now unusable. Reception were completely unhelpful sending me around in circles just to find someone to talk to. I was eventually told I would be compensated for the damage of my medication which is very expensive and have now been unable to get a response from the hotel for weeks!! Really really unacceptable.

Hot nights at Paris Hotel La Fayette

Great location a block from Rue La Fayette. Plenty of restaurants everywhere. Bed was simple but firm (good). No bedside tables. Main problem was 3 days with no AC. They gave us a fan so we managed, but I bet others just changed to a hotel where AC was working. The weather was unusually hot. Coffee was an automated every thing machine. Not good. The old drip coffee cafe au lait I have had at other French hotels is really preferable. So we did not take advantage of breakfasts except for mini croissants and juice. Staff were very competent and kind.

Il y avait la Clim qui ne fonctionnait pas bien et un petit bruit continuel comme une sonnerie légère mais ce n’était pas très gênant pour moi. À part ça c’était parfait un plus pour le café et les chocolats gratuits et l’eau parfumée à volonté !! Très bon séjour dans l’ensemble. Météo à proximité immédiate et quartier animé.
