You need a rest. See you soon Since 2022, Quixote Farm has become a beloved getaway for countless guests who have returned time and again to enjoy the farms uniquely restorative effects. Modeled after a European farmstay, guests love walking in the orange groves, visiting with the rescue animals, shopping in the farmshop, enjoying a beautiful breakfast, or enjoying the very popular Sunset and Charcuterie experience. Note:European Farmstays are exactly that: A family farm. Not a 5-star resort. The space The Lower Barn is the downstairs area of our converted barn. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms with a den (with foldout sofa) and a dining room. The barn is in the heart of our farm near our rescue horses- You may see our farmhands working from time to time. There may or may not be an upstairs guest (who you may or may not see) both of you have your own dedicated entrances. If you want the maximum amount of privacy and quiet, we recommend you rent the entire barn, by consecutively booking the Upper barn here at Quixote Farm. Otherwise, please be aware there are hardwood floors upstairs and you may hear some ambient sounds, although we’ve never had any issues or guest concerns. Guest access We have a firm no filming + photography policy.
Enjoy the Ranch! Its lovely to walk in our gently sloping orchard. A map of the property is provided in the guidebook. You will have access to the citrus orchard surrounding the cottage, you can say hello to our 3 rescue horses, donkeys, alpaca, piggy, and chickens. June-Aug. While most guests love this, please know that the barn is in the heart of where this happens, so it will not be private or quiet-message us for dates. We have a lovely farm shop with a few snacks, ceramics, art and gifts Other things to note We have a firm no filming + photography policy.
Check in is at 3 pm. Checkout is at 10. Pre-scheduling of breakfast or experiences(A must, as we have very busy lives and cannot accommodate last-minute requests) pool and tours, etc is required.
Although pets are allowed, we do have a pet fee of $65 per pet because it does require additional disinfecting and cleaning on our part after your pet leaves so other pets do not mark their territory when they come in:)
Agritourism was created as a means for the farming industry to offset high costs of running a farm, and to showcase a different way of life. This ranch is our livelihood and we are trying to care for our parents and our family here. While we love to serve our guests well, please understand that we are not a five-star resort. Five stars on is completely different from five stars in a hotel.
Since this is a FARM in the country, you may see the occasional ant or bug, or fly, or things that crawl. Keep doors closed!
The ranch is remote . There is nothing to do here, and that’s the point. The farm is ideal for people that want to get away from it all and relax in nature. Some people have booked the cottage as a base for sightseeing in San Diego-we don’t recommend this. Two-lane Highways can mean traffic slow down no matter what time of day-creating a frustrating long commute.
Small dinner parties are acceptable please ask in advance -parties with more than 6 people are strictly prohibited. NO music, glitter or party decor, please!
We are a welcoming ranch. We are a safe space. You may not film your OF here or take pictures of your who ha here. We believe that demeans you and we want no part of it. Go somewhere else to do that that’s not how we want our farm represented.
