Staying in a castle

We enjoyed very much to stay in this historic site. It was very special and history all around. We had dinner in the beautiful restaurant, the food and wine were delicious. It is a very romantic place to stay.

Magical castle with fantastic dining hall set in the outskirts of once-great manufacturing town of Ivrea famous for its Olivetti typewriters. Floors might be creaky and TVs are outdated, but overall ambience compensates for this a lot. Great place to stay if you travelling from Alpes to Italian coast of Milano

Romantic getaway for the fit.

Beautifully restored castle. Lots of attention to detail with furnishings and decor. etc. Atmospheric. Limited dinner menu very expensive and not very good. Breakfast was good. Very surprised that there is no infornation anywere about the castle. The most unpleasant problem was that the car park is NOT on site it is way below the castle and access is by a very steep set of steps. Difficult with suitcases and for anyone elderly or with mobility problems. Also car park is not secure as it is out of sight and has no security.

Avoid - unless you like being taken for a ride

The stand alone AC was not working and when we asked to change room (we were the only guests in a 20+ room hotel) we were told “all the ACs are not working”. I do NOT appreciate being lied to. 20 stand alone units, all broken? Seriously? Not to mention, no apology, no concessions, zero regard for the customer.

Albergo in un meraviglioso castello medievale, tutte le strutture conservate e tenute stupendamente ma comfort moderno. Camera arredata in stile, letto super confortevole. WiFi libero efficiente. Colazione ottima. Parcheggio privato gratuito; una rampa di scale un po' ripida per l'entrata, le persono diversamente abili possono avere qualche difficoltà. La cena in albergo eccellente, con ottima scelta di vini, servizio impeccabile. Prezzo adeguato, non eccessivo.

Bon. Que dire de cet hébergement incroyable ? La vie de château ? C’est une expérience unique. Médiéval avec tout le confort. Accueil parfait. Une déception : nous n’avons pas croisé le fantôme au couteau. Nous reviendrons !

a one off indulgence

Well this is a hotel unlike any other! An incredibly well preserved medieval castle turned into hotel and restaurant for a stay loaded with atmosphere. Despite it being obviously a very old place, it was perfectly comfortable albeit on the chilly side in mid January (it is a real castle)! Not quite a luxury hotel, but a pretty good standard. Huge room, a big luxurious bed, great bathroom, but really you come for the charm of a true castle experience with views of the mountains... we had a very enjoyable dinner too in their upmarket restaurant that was tasty with attentive service, and in another very impressive room, although I'd say a tad on the expensive side by local comparison.

Spending the night in a castle is reward enough, but Castello di Pavone is all that and a lot more. First the room was amazing from the beds to the toilette. The good for breakfast also amazing, and the restaurant was top notch. Loved this place.

This is an exceptional Castle Hotel experience! Do not miss dinner in the hotel, and definitely make sure to request a tour of the full castle! (most isn't available if you don't ask). The path up to the hilltop is an adventure...apparently a local farmer, his giant hog and horse have sort of appropriated the path as their own... If you're going during hot months, beware that the dining area is not air conditioned and the room AC units are in need of some updating. Other than that, this is a truly unique and worthwhile destination hotel for people who enjoy being steeped in medieval history!

Hôtel très original avec accès via une petite porte ! Nous entrons ds un autre monde ! Le temps s’est un peu arrêté ! Chambre spacieuse avec vue sur château , profitons du restaurant avec mets succulents (resto plutot gastro ) carte en français proposée ! Au calme on peut un peu se balader et découvrir le château ! Nous essayerons d’y emmener nos amis québécois l’annee Prochaine 😀! Accueil en français

Dårlig service, og små mørke værelser

Man følte sig uvelkommen og til ulejlighed straks man ankom, værelset var småt og meget mørkt. Det var ingen mulighed for at lave om på det selv om vi ønskede at op-gardere. Personalet sagde at suiterne var ligeså mørke og orkede ikke at vise os dem. Vi forlod så hotellet uden nogen kompensation for de allerede de forudbetalte værelser, og fandt hurtigt en bedre hotel.

Friendly staff, quirky rooms, old a/c unit in our room was not up to the task on a hot day. Need a car to get around. Town of Pavone is run down without any charm.
