Simply Lovely
We had such a wonderful time at this wonderful, lovely cottage by the sea. We loved the historic charm of this beautiful home! Claire is the kindest, friendliest, most helpful host ever! The location is outstanding and the view out of every window looks like a picture postcard. Peggy's Cove is the quintessential seaside fishing village and we loved every minute of our time there. We would love to come back and stay again!

Sweet well appointed cottage right in Peggy’s cove but we’ll enough away from the main tourism area for quiet and privacy. Claire is a fantastic host, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended stay.

Charming seaside village
We loved staying in this little cottage in Peggy's Cove. Perched along a narrow inlet surrounded by amazing views out every window. This cottage was like a little slice of heaven for our family of four. To be a part of this little working fishing village was seriously magical. The cottge is well equiped with everything you could possibly need to make you feel at home during your stay. Claire, the owner was as sweet as could be and made us feel very welcome in her home and Peggy's Cove in general. We've stayed in a lot of beautiful places over the years, but none of them came close to this charming coastal village.

Adorable seaside cottage!
We had a wonderful time at this beautifully decorated little gem- it was the highlight of our Canadian vacation! The bedrooms and living areas were super comfortable and super charming, and the location couldn't have been better. How fun to start each day with coffee on the deck overlooking the cove, or a walk to the lighthouse and back. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect
Situated on top of a hill, this property was perfectly placed for a beautiful view of the fishing port with extensive lawn going down to the port. A short walk up the road was the lighthouse with its rocks to walk and explore. The owner could not have been more welcoming and made us feel like family. The cottage was cozy and beautifully reflected the feel of the quaint village in which it is located. The photos give an accurate picture of the coziness and comfort of the cottage and the decor beautifully reflects the maritime environment.

Magical location
This was a magical little spot right in the heart of Peggy’s Cove. You can’t beat the view! Claire was a great host, super attentive and responsive to messages. We ran into Claire in Peggy’s Cove and she gave us great suggestions for hikes and activities to do in the area. We so enjoyed our time at the cottage and would go back in a heartbeat.

A Week at Peggy's Cove Cottage - An Excellent Choice
A couple of U.S. guys shared this (3) bedroom cottage as a home base for photographing the Nova Scotia coastline and scenic areas of the southeast and north central coasts. It proven to be an excellent choice in all respects. The cottage is beautifully located on a nice rise in the landscape of Peggy's Cove and has great views of the village. The village is small and you can walk everywhere from this location.......to the shops, restaurants, church, lighthouse and water. It has (2) nice size bedrooms and a third small bedroom, full kitchen and living and dining area as well as a small back porch to watch the sunset over the village. It's comfortable, decorated nicely and perfect for a quiet and relaxing stay in what proved to be a really nice vacation in a quaint and scenic Nova Scotia traditional village. It's location in the village is quite central and Peggy's Cove is located such that you can easily travel to Lunenburg or Halifax or beyond for day trips to lots of other beautiful locations, villages and scenic drives. The owner(s) of the property (Claire and her husband) were great in accommodating us and very gracious in answering all our questions, supplying us with local information and details on sights, restaurant locations, groceries and other information for first time visitors. There are lots of positives about the property and it would be ideal for couples or small families. Downsides would only apply to exceptional considerations: I would not recommend it for people with mobile disabilities (i.e. wheel chair, walkers, etc.) as the terrain is uneven (it sits on a rise/hill overlooking the village) and getting from the parking spot to the entrance would be tricky. This is actually part of the character of the property and the entire town/village as a whole. Overall, a great choice as we had a terrific time staying here. Were very comfortable and easily commuted everywhere we wanted to go and enjoyed a great relationship with the owners. A five star recommendation from a seasoned traveler and first time visitor to Nova Scotia!

Quaint cottage in a beautiful location
The cottage is surrounded by beauty. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the mornings. All accommodations in the cottage were excellent and comfortable. The parking was a bit of a challenge but we made it work. Claire was great at responding to my messages. I would recommend this quaint cottage, you’ll wish your stay was longer.

Fabulous Views, Terrific Hosts, Exceptional Charm!
Claire & Paul's remodeled house is truly one-of-a-kind. It's perfectly situated in lovely Peggy's Cove. The views of the village, lighthouse, and ocean from the front windows are like looking at a large oil painting of a post-card perfect scene. You'll fall in love with the inhabitants of the town as you wander the streets and chat with them each day. Everyone is so warm, friendly, and eager to share their stories! Also, the remodel of the house is quite remarkable. Claire and Paul transformed an old tired house with a ton of external charm into a cozy nest with all the modern conveniences you will need. But, perhaps the best feature of this property is the owners. Paul and Claire are truly wonderful people. They were remarkably attentive to our needs. You will enjoy staying at this rate gem!

Cottage with a view
Peggy’s cabin is a beautiful cottage overlooking Peggy’s Cove! We spent several evenings on the back deck enjoying the view. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The sitting area was spacious and comfortable. The only difficulty for us was managing the stairs to the bedroom and bathroom. That’s because we are in our 70s and not as agile as we once were. However, we had a nice stay and Claire stayed in touch to make sure we were well cared for!

We had a wonderful time in Peggy's Cove. Claire was an amazing host, easy to reach, answered our questions. Her recommendations for places to eat were spot on. We had vehicle trouble and her husband recommended Homestead just 10 minutes down the road. They fixed our problems quickly. Everyone we met were very friendly. We highly recommend this cottage and host.

Heart Warming
Anyone looking for a vacation home is setting the foundation for memories. Claire's cottage is the ideal aesthetic for a Nova Scotian experience. Clean and beautiful with touches of love adorning every room without being clutterd. A great base for driving trips to Lunenburg as well as the Kejimkujik National Park. On rainy days we stayed inside enjoying the best view of Peggys Cove. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. I thought one bathroom for 5 people would be challenging but it worked out well. There was plenty of hot water! The best part of this cottage is the owner. She is so attentive to ensuring you have a great stay. Thank you Claire for a lovely cottage vacation that my family will never forget! XOX

Peaceful retreat
I've experienced many VRBO properties throughout the years but none with the personality of this one. The home itself, the wonderful community and of course, the lighthouse all contribute to a sense of ease and an ability to disconnect, decompress and just enjoy the surroundings. Everything you need is in the house -it's immaculately kept and the owner is a wealth of local knowledge and very pleasant to talk to. I'd happily return again if the opportunity presented itself and if you're considering coming, I'm sure you'll be just as pleased as I was.

A dream come true
This lovely home is perched on top of the hill overlooking the harbor and quaint homes of Peggys Cove. As an artist I was blown away at the incredible views to paint and photograph in every direction. The house is cozy and provisioned with everything you need. Walk down and buy a cooked lobster or throw together your own meals and enjoy the view from the balcony. Claire is wonderful and very responsive to whatever you need. The locals are kind and helpful. I’m coming back. I simply must return.

Charming cottage in a beautiful location!
We just spent a week at this lovely cottage. It has been beautifully renovated and we really appreciated all of the quaint and original details (hardwood floors, wood beams, fireplace etc). Claire has done a wonderful job of decorating the space to make it feel cosy and comfortable and it was nice to see lots of local art throughout the cottage. It is an ideal location and you feel right at home being able to walk to the shops in the village and to the lighthouse. The views are incredible and we never got tired of walking along the rocks by the lighthouse, watching the crashing waves, and seeing beautiful sunsets. Claire was wonderful to deal with: so friendly, very attentive, and responded very quickly to emails. We enjoyed ice cream and coffee in the village and great dinners at nearby restaurants (Rhubarb, Shaw’s Landing, and The Finer Diner). This location is also an easy drive for day trips to Halifax and Lunenberg. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time in Peggy’s Cove and we hope to return again soon. When we do we would definitely stay at Claire and Paul’s cottage again! Thank you so much! The Bingham Family

A full horizon of ocean views...with a lighthouse!
A very nice and character laden house, nicely situated above a small fishing cove. Very special. Claire is a very friendly host and has done a nice job of renovating and outfitting this small house for guests. Outstanding views of the fishing cove and the ocean beyond. Overall outstanding.

Excellent views, well-equipped cottage
We enjoyed our stay in Peggy's Cove. The cottage is well laid out and equipped. Feels very cozy. We spent most of our time on the balcony overseeing Peggy's Cove-- views are amazing. Very easy to walk to everything in town. Groceries are close by (5 min drive to small grocery store w/ wine, beer, etc. and then 25 mins to larger stores in Tantallon). Owners are friendly, helpful and responsive. We'll be back.

Our short week in Peggy's Cove celebrating our 50th anniversary was beyond all expectations. Claire and Paul's house was everything described and more. It was totally clean and comfortable making or stay even more enjoyable. There was not anything they have overlooked or forgotten. We really enjoyed the central location for day trips to Halifax, Lunenburg, whale watching and the tidal bore in Truro. Their recommendation to dine at the Rhubarb restaurant was a great help and one that was spot on. Coming from Dallas, Texas, we really enjoyed the cool (not cold) weather! An evening cocktail or morning coffee on the front deck was such a joy! Thanks to both of you...we'll be back. Bill and Kathie

The Jewel In The Crown of Peggy's Cove.
The cottage, #6 Rocky Road, is a spacious and comfortable house that has been lovingly renovated to include a mix of modern appliances and utilities, and quaint facilities. The kitchen is very well appointed with excellent fridge, stove, dishwasher, and water cooler, and very good quality pots, pans, crockery and flatware. The living room furniture is very comfortable. So too, are the beds - but two of the three bedrooms would be better-served by heavier duty curtains that would shut out the summer sunlight at 05:00am. The sole bathroom seems, at first, very small but it contains all the necessities: bath/shower, wc and wash basin. The view of Peggy's Cove from the front deck is breathtakingly beautiful and by itself worth the price of the rental! The spacious and secluded grounds are well maintained and add to the overall experience of being 'at home'. We most certainly hope to return to Peggy's Cove Cottage.

The place to stay in Peggy's Cove
We just left after a week at the cottage and we can't wait to return! The house is just amazing! The renovations kept all of the charm but added the necessary modern amenities such as a dishwasher! The house is stocked with everything you need... full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, cutlery, corkscrew, lobster cooking essentials, and picnic supplies. We loved the wood burning fireplace and used it every night. The back porch had amazing views of the town and we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine there daily. It was nice to go out for the day to Halifax, or Lunenburg, or just driving the coast to visit the local gallery's and come home to this relaxing retreat. The house is filled with wonderful art ( some by Claire herself!) , there is one picture you will never see because I begged Claire to let us us buy it! You can also find her art at Haggs Hill By the lighthouse. If you are coming to this area you MUST stay here, you will not be sorry!

Amazing views of the Cove
Listing was as advertised. Inside and out the cottage was well maintained and clean. Amazing views from almost every window. We have recommended Peggys Cove Cottage to a number of friends interested in going out East in the near future. Next time out East we would rent again.

The gem of Peggys Cove
If the earthly paradise ever existed, it must have been there... If you seek living a wonderful experience by the ocean, don't look any further, you've juste found it. Everything was just perfect, the Cottage, the sight, the site, the poeples, the local food and of course, the ocean... We felt like we were literally living in a postcard! And the owners are just fantastic, very communicative and helpful. We really enjoyed each and every seconds of our stay. Thanks for sharing with us your wonderfull piece of paradise! Delightful Cottage in a Delightful Place
Words and photos can't describe the beauty of Peggy's Cove and the unique serenity of staying at this little cottage. Overall it was a good value and a nice spot for our four-night stay in Nova Scotia. The owners made sure we had everything we needed and although they were not in the area, a neighbor checked in with us and offered his assistance on their behalf as well. Notes on the cottage: - The area southwest of Halifax along the coast (I believe it's called South Shore or something similar) stands out for its beautiful design and aesthetics, and this cottage is no exception. It's a lovely place. - Walking distance from everything in Peggy's Cove, which is a bigger deal than it sounds based on my observations of the traffic and parking issues during our stay - If you are over 5'8" or so be aware that you will need to duck a lot to avoid hitting your head in doorways and low ceilings...not really a detraction, just something to keep in mind

Absolutely loved everything about this place, from it's old world charm and character, to the magic in the air.
