Excellent accommodation with lovely, knowledgeable hosts. Great location, close to town. The views are spectacular. Sweet beaches nearby. Short drive to starting point of Island Tours. Highly recommend! Would definitely stay at Lindsay’s again.

Our host was so helpful when we found out our ferry had been cancelled. He gave us numbers to call and updates on weather and situation in general. The ferry booking lady was also very helpful and allowed us to make a booking by phone as soon as the ferries were running on the day itself! A lot of online info isn't accurate. We could have flown in and hired a car on the island as an alternative. We learnt that from our host. Contact the host before your trip. They can give you all the details. Flat is a granny flat that is self equipped and comes with all kinds of different coffees to boot. The location is 2 mins from the ferry so it's about 2 hrs to get to flinders chase. The hosts live next door so we could get help with anything easily. We loved our stay and can recommend to anyone who wants to explore kangaroo island.

Three day visit to Kangaroo Island.

Plenty of time to explore the key sites on the island in our own car. Arrived and departed by ferry (50 minute journey) from Cape Jarvis to Penneshaw. Easy smooth ride across the strait.

Beautiful location, lovely hosts

We used Penneshaw as a base to explore the southern area of KI. Lindsay's was a perfect spot. Made very welcome from the moment we arrived and room was fantastic.

A hidden gem in Penneshaw

It was not clear from the description on Hotels.com, but this is actually a single self-contained studio apartment, which is part of the owner's house. It has it's own entrance but shares the same terrace. We were a bit worried by the fact that there were no online reviews for this accommodation, but after staying there we can assure anyone considering a booking that there is absolutely nothing to worry about. The apartment is nicely decorated, fully equipped with TV/Stereo/kitchen amenities etc and is spotlessly clean. It boasts amazing sea views from the windows and from the outside terrace. We would really recommend anyone looking for accommodation in Penneshaw to consider this apartment. The only downside is that Penneshaw as such is not really an ideal base to explore Kangaroo Island. It is really on one extremity of the island and quite far from all the main attraction. Maybe the ideal holiday what be to combine one or two nights here with a couple of nights further into the island closer to the attractions and wildlife. Note: the map on Hotels.com is correct but the actual "street" number is wrong and there is no signboard so you may want to contact the landlord in advance to get correct directions.
