Stunning!

One of the best cottage rentals we've had - a real home from home, despite the rain! Simply stunning location with loads of great walking areas around. Great location near village and main routes into and through Lake District. Really clean, well equipped and comfortable. Service from Cumbrian Cottage Holidays brilliant. Cannot fault anything. Thankyou!

Just beautiful

Roxby is wonderful. Its location is superb, 2min walk to Pooley Bridge and the shops and pubs, 3min walk to the ferry. Its surroundings are so peaceful and the river is just stunning, along with all the wonderful wildlife it brings. We could've watched it all day! We arrived during storm Amy, which was wild, but the river stayed where it was meant to be! The house is brilliantly laid out, beautiful decor, and was spotlessly clean. Lovely hot power showers in the ensuits. All the utensils seemed new. And sharp knives! What can I say. We loved it and will be back. Its not especially cheap but when you compare with some other properties in the area its good value for money.

A Special Place For A Special Anniversary

We choose Roxby as somewhere for us to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary later this month. Roxby was perfect for it's location. Gail was very easy to communicate with and the cottage was eveything we wanted for our break. It was very peaceful despite the works going on next door. We were visited by a pair off ducks for breakfast everyday. On the last morning we were graced with the presence of a Red Squirell, what a treat. When we arrived the key safe was open, the keys were in the door on the outside and the door was wide open which was a bit of a worry, so we went in cautiously but there was no one inside. That was a bit of a worry. Because the door was open the cottage was roasting as the heating was trying to keep the place warm. There was no instructions for the heating in the folder. The vacuum cleaner was full, so we had to empty it before we could use it and on closer inspection the pipes are full as well. We tried our best to clean it out, but it wasn't our job. We have a similar one at home and it needs emptying and cleaning out each time it is used. It does need a very thorough clean.
