Peaceful rural retreat - w/Parking - close to Mousehole Beaches & Restaurants
This beautiful one bedroom dwelling dates back to the late 1800's and has been sympathetically restored by the present owners. Situated just a few miles above the village of Mousehole , the small rural hamlet of Chyenhal offers peace and tranquility for those who are looking for a relaxing holiday or short break, yet it is still in very easy reach of all the beautiful beaches , coves, restaurants and locations. The Long Barn is privately situated within the grounds of the owners own home with its own private garden areas , free Wifi and its own private parking space .
A 10 minute drive down the A30 will find you at Lands End and the wonderful sandy beach of Sennen. One of the most beautiful surfing destinations in the UK.
The famous fishing village of Mousehole is a 5 minute drive away , hosting a number of excellent restaurants and art galleries. Mousehole is famous for many events throughout the year including its ( biannual) Sea Salts and Sails festival , July 5th - 17th 2024, Tom Bawcocks Eve on the 23rd December , along with the wonderful Mousehole Christmas lights. Closing the year on New years Eve with a spectacular harbour fireworks display.
Porthcurno and Porthchapel beaches, the famous Minack Theatre and Penberth Cove, which is regularly used in the filming of Poldark, are all around a 25 minute drive by car.
Take a day trip to the Isle of Scilly, Lands End Air Port - 13 minutes drive - flights are daily . Or catch the ferry from Penzance . The ferry sails daily and is a 5 minute drive away from the property.
Visit The Tate St.Ives and stay for lunch at one of the many eateries which serve wonderful locally caught fish dishes. St. Ives is a 30 minute drive away.
The Long Barn offers a luxurious accommodation finished to a high standard in a peaceful rural setting. There is a very comfortable kingsize bed, with linen bedding. The property is centrally heated through out, along with a woodburner for those who like a real log fire ( logs and kindling supplied). Outside there are two small garden areas both with tables and seating for two people and a private parking space. Take a evening walk through the owners four acres of meadow to the sunset bench and watch the evening sun go down .

We hadden een heel prettig verblijf in The Long Barn bij Cheyendal Farm. We werden prettig verwelkomd en rondgeleid in de voormalige stal, die was verbouwd tot een geweldig smaakvol ingerichte vakantiewoning. Heel rustig en landelijk gelegen. En van alle gemakken voorzien. Zéker de moeite waard om te verblijven en om zó zuidwest Cornwall te verkennen en delen van het SouthWest Coastpath te wandelen.

We really had a great time. The house is very beautiful and I is quiet. In the kitchen is everything you need. Becky and Ben are very nice. It is exciting to reach the house, as the streets are very small. But from there you can reach many sights in a short time.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage

Wunderbares Haus, ruhige Lage, nette Vermieter
Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig außerhalb von Penzanc, perfekt zur Erkundung der Penwith-Halbinsel. Es ist modern und schön eingerichtet. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sodass wir während unseres einwöchigen Aufenthalts nie zum Essen ausgegangen sind. Im nahe gelegenen Newlyn gibt es leckeren frischen Fisch und Lebensmittel-Läden für alles weitere.
Wer nicht in der Stadt leben möchte, wo alles zu Fuß zu erreichen ist, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.

Einfach perfekt
Wir haben drei wunderschöne Tage bei Beccy & Ben und ihren Tieren verbracht. Sie sind herzliche Gastgeber, die immer für ein nettes Gespräch offen sind. Die Unterkunft selbst ist wunderschön und von Beccy mit viel Herz eingerichtet. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Leider war die Zeit zu schnell vorbei!

The perfect VRBO. Everything worked and attention to detail was evident. Beccy and Ben were there when needed and absent when not, yet always available for a chat. What more could anyone expect from a VRBO?
The weather was marginal during our 4 night stay, but we accomplished everything on our must do list and to come back to Long Barn, each afternoon, was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommended.

Just unbelievably beautiful!
This was one of the most beautiful vacation in my life - and I already travelled a lot! Starting with the warmest welcome I ever had from Beccy and then the very wonderful barn which is decorated with so much love (nothing is missing). Both, Beccy and Ben, are so very friendly and open people, it is just a pleasure to spend time there.
If I ever will come back to Cornwall - only to the „Long Barn“. Thanks for everything! 😘

Superb getaway
Absolutely lovely little barn, very very clean and comfortable, well equipped, comfy bed and delightful little outside spaces to sit and enjoy the sun.

Perfect Cornish coastal retreat!
The barn was very light, bright and airy with a beachy coastal look to compliment it's location. It has 2 lovely little secluded garden areas just for guests...perfect for an afternoon cuppa or glass of prosecco after a day of sightseeing. It's very open plan inside but maintains a cosy feel. There's also designated off-road parking for guests. The location is very peaceful and is ideal for visiting local attractions such as Lands End, St Michael's Mount plus various beaches etc.
The owners Becky and Ben live on site but are in no way intrusive. Becky greeted us on arrival and gave us a quick tour of the barn before leaving us to enjoy our holiday...and the welcome bottle of prosecco !! Both are very friendly and clearly very proud of their holiday home, which we wouldn't hesitate to rebook if we're down that way again.

Everything We Hoped For
What a wonderful way to start our driving tour of the UK. Beccy and Ben were so welcoming and thoughtful.
The Long Barn was so beautifully decorated and furnished with everything we could need. When we arrived, Beccy showed us around, pointing out the features and how everything worked. It was such a peaceful place to reconnect with nature and also easy to explore the surrounding area. The courtyard was a relaxing space to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Loved the horses and the cats too! Thank you so much for your kindness.
