From here, you can go by ferry to Bellagio and Menaggio or take a boat ride to explore the colorful villages overlooking the lake. In Varenna, there is also the train station that allows you to reach Lecco, Monza and Milan very easily, therefore it is ideal for a day of shopping or sightseeing in the area. Varenna, known as the Diamante del Lago, has many restaurants, as well as bars by the lake shore, where you can enjoy an aperitif and admire the beautiful view. In the winter months, you can access the ski resorts in less than two hours, such as Bormio, St. Moritz and Madesimo, to name a few.
