Where to begin? I booked 2 night stay but change of plans & only needed 2nd night. I didn’t ask for first night refund/csncel as didn’t want to risk not having the room for night 2 so I emailed hotel a week ahead to explain Fri/Sat reservation but we wouldn’t check in until late in day Saturday (so hotel knew we were coming & not rebook room thinking we were no show). Got reply, “no problem-thanks for letting us know & we’ll make a note for reservations”. Show up late on Saturday. No where to park without paying $40. Disgruntled guest rammed gate/arm & was on the ground when we arrived. Not a great first impression. People mulling around outside of hotel entrance smoking & loitering. Felt like I was checking into section 8 housing. Check in person saying d since didn’t check in on Friday, our room was rebooked. Had to pull up my email with hotel and wait and wait for them to find us another clean room. It was now 9:30 pm, people in beach clothes (hotel has pool) mulling all around lobby, loud, kids running wild everywhere. Only restaurant in hotel was closed (mind you on a Saturday night) and bar, which stated served bar food until they close at 10 pm, stop food orders by 9:30.
The next morning breakfast had security guard present which says it all. Checked out, airport shuttle driver no call/no show. Every hassle you could imagine was found at this hotel. So disappointing as ES typically well run, clean, family friendly safe hotel chain. Would NOT recommend.
