"This could have possibly been an amazing getaway if it was at a different Day of the week. Unfortunately it was like a blizzard when we got there with snow already on the ground from the night before. Since the reviews said it had a wonderful view and scenic area, as well as an indoor fireplace in the lobby, and a bar restaurant we figured how could we go wrong. Upon arrival we found the restaurant and bar were closed on Sundays and Mondays so that was a letdown. It was a Monday and we were driving back to Pittsburgh from Miami and we were looking forward to a fun evening. Not a big deal though, we had a bottle of rum and vodka in the vehicle from our vacation that we had purchased at the duty free shop on the ship. So I asked where we can get ice and she said they don't have ice buckets but we can go down to the gas station and buy ice. We figured not a big deal, since the restaurant was closed anyway, we would go down to the gas station where there's a godfather's Pizza and we could get dinner there. So off we went to buy dinner for later and a bag of ice which I had to leave in our bathroom sink throughout the evening because there were no buckets to put the ice in. Makes me wonder why did I have to buy a bag of ice and still not have a bucket? I also asked the woman in the lobby if they light the fire in the fireplace so we could sit there and enjoy it. She said she didn't know if she would because it's a pain to keep lit. So we sat in the room and scrolled on our phones."

"I have been going to Glade Springs for at least 20 years on my many trips from our home in Michigan to our beach house in SC. The amenities at this resort are great! Beautiful golf courses which make terrific places to stretch your legs after a long drive, a great bar/restaurant for an easy dinner, both indoor and outdoor pools if you have kids with you, plus lots of other activities and amenities. The problem I have have with Glade Springs is that they have not updated their rooms in about the same amount of time. We usually stay in a pet friendly Executive Suite, and I think the same stains I noticed on the couch have been there for the last 10 years. The wall paper is starting to peel, the TV's are ancient, the bath room needs an update (or at least re-glazing the tub), and the carpets need a good cleaning. This resort has so much potential, a little elbow grease and some new furniture would go a long way!"

"Absolutely atrocious directions. "Go a few miles".... how about thee owners or property maintenance folks actually go out and measure true distances?!?! Poorly maintained. Two key boxes, none of which made any sense, only to be told when we called to ask for help- oh, we know, the bottom box should have been removed a long time ago. To start- why on Gods green earth should my son and husband spend 2 hours cleaning the walkway of ice/ frozen snow to make it safe for any of us to walk on?Lastly, and why we left a full day early- we found LIVE bugs in the beds. The master bed had "organic debris" from previous guests... on stained sheets to boot. Two missing smoke detectors in the upstairs bedrooms/ hallway area. When we gave up on using the master bed when we found all of the nastiness left over from another guest, only to sleep on beds that felt like they belonged in a prison instead. I attempted calling / texting all three numbers left as contact numbers, and got no response from any of them. I've got the screen shots/ photos/ videos on anll of these items as well. All in all- ranks pretty high on the "don't EVER stay again" list. Safe yourself the time- book the Pipestem Lodge instead. It's closer to the park entrance, clean, far more amenities, and a fraction of the price. "

"It’s not what is in the pictures. There’s mold in the bathroom. It’s very small. The couch was very uncomfortable and very hard. We arrived Friday evening and left early the next morning.We didn’t stay our whole stay because it was very uncomfortable. People was walking around our stay the whole night. "
