There were stains on the seating in the room and the tub had a used soap bar.
There's no towel rack, nowhere to put soap/shampoo except a small ledge by the shower knobs or the windowsill. As a clawfoot tub, water splashed out because these spots were outside the shower curtain. The shower leaked, so we turned the water line on and off to shower.
The bedding had not been changed and had stains/hair clearly visible on it. We called because we couldn't find on-site staff. It took over an hour to get new sheets after calling. The staff person was very kind and apologetic, it just took a long time at 11pm.
The parking lot is small. The dining room patrons used the lot, leaving no spots when we arrived one evening. Again, the staff were kind and apologetic, and had a car moved to make room when we told them.
We were told housekeeping is only by request, but the housekeeper walked in while we were there. The housekeeper said they were told the day before the room needed to be cleaned, implying that it wasn't cleaned before we arrived.
The bed is on wheels and has no headboard, we kept having to push it back up against the wall.
The old charm of the hotel is nice, there just needs to be some extra work put in to make the room more comfortable. They are addressing the cleaning issue (the new housekeeper seems great), and everyone on staff was really nice to us when we shared our issues. The location is really nice depending on interests.
