This is a traditional style large grand hotel in the centre of town. While it is less "grand" than it presumably once was, it still delivers good levels of comfort, room size, and service. The location is conveniently very close to the old town, historic attractions, parks and restaurants.

Lovely building in a lovely area with lovely restaurant attached. My only recommendation based on our room is that the bathroom needs updating.

We had a three night stay in Plodiv. We primarily choose this hotel for its pool. The first issue is only one of the two pools is functional ( the indoor one ) and the outside pool has clearly not been functioning for years. The hotel structure is beautiful but it’s in desperate need of modernisation. For example the beds while clean were very hard and aged and the rooms were very dark and gloomy. The staff was helpful and friendly ( by Bulgarian standard’s ) despite the condition of the hotel.

My room had a strong stench of cigarettes which never seemed to disappear. I think the previous guests smoked inside the room. Also, there was a forgotten plate with sweets on the cupboard. The outdoor swimming pool was closed which wasn’t written anywhere on the website, and the main reason I booked here was because of the outdoor pool. The staff barely spoke Bulgarian. The only good thing is the indoors swimming pool and the staff taking care of it. The two guys - the chemist caring for the water and the lifeguard were so kind!

I had a comfortable stay and the hotel’s location is very convenient. However I don’t think it lives up to the standard of a 4* hotel. The room was old and outdated, carpets were stained, wall paint was peeling off, there was mold around the bathtub, the balcony was dirty. It must’ve been amazing back in the day but it is in desperate need of a renovation. Also on the last day there was no water. I realize it’s probably not the hotel’s fault but there should’ve been some kind of warning beforehand or a compensation afterwards.

It is a grad hotel Soviet style closed to the old historical centre of the city. It is part of a huge casino with most guests coming for gambling. It is conveniently positioned. Rooms are of a good sized but outdated, tied, not fit with enough electric points for charging you phone or a tablet. Instead of a show it was an old style bath. Was not able to use swim g pool. They sell tickets to it to outsiders. It was so busy- no chance to swim. Massages in spa are cheap but you get what you pay for- not great quality. Breakfast not great either . It is clean but smell if cigarets is everywhere. Stuff at the reception do not speak English good enough. Communications were difficult. Still, if comeback to Plovdiv , will stay there for the convenience of the position and good size of the rooms.

The Victoria restaurant and staff is top notch. The other restaurant is only worth going to for breakfast. Staff at front desk and both restaurants were really nice and spoke English. I would stay there again. Good location close to a lot of good places
