Couple trip for 5 nights

We would rate this hotel almost excellent, our room was very comfortable and serviced twice a day. The grounds and pool are beautiful, effort towards sustainability is evident. Service was sometimes slow and our drinks orders were incorrect a couple of times but no big deal. We booked a couple of ‘experiences’ the wine tasting was cancelled an hour before start time. The romantic meal was a bit disappointing in our opinion, the space and views were gorgeous but the location meant the food arrived cold, and long gaps between courses. The aperitif in the field was excellent, the views are stunning, could have done with something other than bread and nuts to eat, maybe add cheese and meats?! Overall we loved the resort, staff were friendly and ideal for a couple wanting to spend a few days in a secluded location.

We stayed 7 nights here for our honeymoon and had a mixed experience. The service from Martha, Ita, Francesca, Giuseppe, Michaela and every staff member was excellent—always helpful, kind, and professional. The property itself is beautiful, offering a peaceful, rustic atmosphere with stunning landscapes. However, while it’s common for upscale places to offer honeymoon perks, none were provided here. Although the hotel is adults-only, the owner’s children were at the pool one day during our stay. The owner’s dog, Bruno, is very well cared for, but sadly, Bruno’s two puppies were kept in poor, cruel conditions under the sun. As for the food, it was good but noy amazing. Lunch is €30 and lacks any protein, with the mostly the same menu offered daily. Dinner had a good menu, but the portions were extremely small. Wine pours, both at the bar and during meals, were very small, especially for the price. The pool also needed better maintenance. Overall, a beautiful place with room for improvement.

Beautiful setting, great restoration, friendly and helpful staff. Good food as well. Food more expensive than the room prices make you expect, but in total still great value. Drive in bumpy but doable in a normal car, just don't rush.

Stunning views in very comfortable country inn. We travelled with friends in Sicily and Southern Italy by car. Our most important tip is: DO NOT USE GPS. We prebooked all of our accommodations and every one sent us directions on how to get there. To our peril, we ignored their directions and relied on a Garmin GPS plus the GPS in our rental car. It turns out that most of Italy is not on GPS. It is very important that you follow the directions provided by your host to avoid getting lost as we did! We were hopelessly lost and travelled the back roads usually used by tractors in pouring rain. We finally arrived and what a delight! Despite all of the rain we experienced while at Masseria Susafa, we loved everything about this place! Friendly staff, cleans rooms, gorgeous views and beautiful grounds. The breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. We ate dinner there twice, it was good but not as good as at other hotels in the same category. If dinner time meals were improved a bit this place would be outstanding.

Central Sicilian Oasis - Stay Long

Excellent Property - Hotels have a huge impact on my trip and this one well exceeded our expectations. Beautiful and tranquil property, amazing food, and simple + comfortable room. Also probably the best bed, sheets and pillows we had in Sicily. Close (1 hour or so) to much of central/middle Sicily towns and sites. This NY couple 100% recommends. Owner was present, available and friendly. Staff was lovely. Wished we stayed longer.

We’ll be back.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The food was incredible and I wish we had been able to do one of the cookery courses on offer. The pool looks out over incredible hills and mountains as does the rest of the property. We will definitely be going back for another visit.
