Seemed short of staff that limited the facilities available. Bars unopened slow service at reception card readers not working. No opportunity to extend checking out time. Original pet room given to an earlier arrival so had to use first floor and not ground floor with a blind small dog even though I telephoned the day before arrival to confirm booking and pet details.

The Hotel is in an excellent position on Poole Quay. But the management of the Hotel have let the Hotel fabric and surroundings deteriorate considerably. There are 2 large weeds growing out of the front door. There are weeds and litter all around the Hotel. It looks as if the Management do not care about presentation of the Hotel. The evening security is very strange. It does not cost much to keep a property tidy and clean of Litter. The Hotel looks a disgrace and so sad as it was one of the best Hotels in Dorset in its day.

This hotel is shocking the bathroom was dirty and the bath I really wouldn’t want to bath in it as was disgusting and full of hard water stains as never cleaned properly.. Was a windy night and the wind noise coming through the windows was awful and kept you awake, only to be told on check out by the bloke on reception that they know how bad the windows are and they are meant to be sorted in January. If you are in a room next to the stairs good luck with trying to get some sleep past 5 in the morning as they have no soft close on doors so all they do is slam shut. This hotel is very tired and outdated but like something out of faulty towers.. Next morning we logged a complaint with the chap on reception written down and got told someone would be in contact with us and we are now talking a month ago still nothing. Don’t waste you money with this disgusting bad customer service place.

Stayed for one night with my wife and dog. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room was fine - clean and comfortable. Bar area was small with limited seating options. Breakfast was everything we could want - cereals, pastries, toast, cooked. However, the room is quite sole-less, no pictures on the walls. The sausages seemed to have be heated and re-heated, quite tough. This didn't spoil our breakfast - there was plenty of other options.

Ex thistle hotel, so good standard of room size! Would say on a par with premier inn! Water pressure/ shower excellent! No need to read on really. 😂 We requested a fold away bed as we had our teenage son with us. At check in the confirmed this was all sorted. It wasn’t! Not a problem the staff put it right within 20 mins. And didn’t provide extra cup or towel. So let down on the little things. Would stay here again. Handy for visiting family.

What a Shame!
Such a shame! We have stayed at this hotel before less than a year ago when visiting our son and rebooked as was very good. However, on this visit the room was extremely worn; unclean with stains on bed sheets and an old biscuit with hairs on it on the carpet. This was so disappointing because we had given an excellent review last time! Difficult to understand why this visit was so different. The view was the only thing which equalled the last stay!

Room was basic but very clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was ok and the view was great. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the stars of this stay for sure. If you’re on a limited budget you could do a lot worse.

Great location and value - a little tired
The hotel was in a great position right on the Harbour so the views were great and it was a stroll from the ferry to Brownsea Island and the cafés, pubs and restaurants. The place was clean and room a good size. For me the bed was very hard and i struggled to sleep and the bathroom was tired. But for the money it was great value and we had a wonderful time seeing red squirrels on Brownsea.

The shower was luke warm and dripped, costing the hotel money in extra water bills. The reception and other staff were very helpful and it was very convenient to find pet friendly accommodation for our new puppy so close to our ferry terminal.

Don’t give them card details.
Room smelt like sewage, car park had carcans parked on the grass unloading waste near paying customers cars and they even then took over £100 extra on my card after I had checked out because a “new person” had made a mistake.. why do they have my card details saved? When asked why they took the money they had no reason at all. So it’s not an accident to go out of your way to take funds from someone if they don’t owe you money. Terrible hotel and I feel sorry for anyone who makes the mistake I did of thinking that someone in such a good spot would offer something half decent.

The issue with the extra card payment was down to an unfortunate error made by a new member of staff whilst you was still checked in. This was rectified immediately by a manager on site. All the staff were really friendly. The room was lovely, clean and roomy. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety. The hotelnis in a perfect location, overlooking the harbour and just a short walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants. Plenty of parking spaces and secure.

Room seemed clean and the bed was comfortable enough as i slept quite well, staff were friendly enough, the hotel is quite well situated with a good amount of restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat in
