An oasis of calm, healing and relaxation
What a beautiful spot. Nice and private, very peaceful. Unfortunately, my pup decided to have a midlife crisis and we weren't able to spend time with the fur gang who are a wonderful bonus to this property. The ocean is easily accessible and the owner's easy to communicate with who were very patient with my fishing obsessed kids. Shopping, stores and hiking are all close as well. Having a warm fire at the end of the day was a lovely extra. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Private and secluded
Wonderful friendly hosts who shared their property but were not intrusive. Their dogs huge and friendly were so well mannered and put my little dog at ease in no time. The cottage itself was so quaint it felt like going back in time but all the necessities were available. The road in is not so bad if you drive slow. We found it a little challenging to get down to the okeover sound but we are both in our seventies and a bit physically challenged. Younger people would have had no problems and kids would love it there with all the space to run around. In all a very pleasant stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to just “get away” for a while.

Perfect Get-away
This little spot was exactly what we were looking for! We enjoyed time relaxing, reading and plays cards at the cabin. We headed off for a couple day trips as well! Jurgen, Cindy and there 3 dogs were very welcoming! We enjoyed fresh basil from the garden, and garlic from a previous harvest. Would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect secluded location, perfect for switching off yet in relatively close proximity to other local areas of interest (e.g. Lund 15mins away). Delightful cabins, relaxed and friendly hosts - would most certainly recommend, and will be returning!

Comfortable Cabin - Enjoyable Easter Weekend
We enjoyed the peaceful, quiet setting near the ocean beach and Sunshine Coast trail. The cabin was cozy with a wood stove and lots of firewood available. The kitchen was well stocked with every pot, pan, baking sheet, utensils and dishes to cook most anything. Be advised, for coffee there is only a small Italian press that makes just six ounces of coffee at a time. It makes great coffee but small portions. The hosts, Cindy and Jurgen, were wonderful - very accommodating and informative about the area. Also very pet friendly as we brought our larger dog along for a holiday 🙂 The frogs were very vocal in the evening and we enjoyed their nature's chorus quite a lot. Oysters were plentiful on the beach, which we enjoyed snacking on. Everything made it a very pleasant and enjoyable Easter weekend.

Beautiful spot and cabin. The nearby Sunshine Coast Trail is great. No cell service and no internet (except by request) might discourage those who can't let go of the modern lifestyle, but it's a blessing for anyone who wants to slow down and have some time as a human being rather than a human doing.

Sweet solitude
We stayed here at the end of September and had gorgeous weather. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. We needed a place to have peace and quiet and this location really delivered! Bed was comfy for the two of us and we did a lot of cooking and found it very well stocked with all we needed. What an amazing, tucked-away spot…..highly recommend it.

Amazing getaway
I almost hate to give it good rating since it might get hard to book. It was a fabulous getaway, the quiet and the stars at night point out the noise & light pollution we get accustomed to. We had great paddling trips all over the inlet, some nice hikes and some time enjoying the peace and quiet. We both would have loved to have had more time as a week just flew by!

Awesome 👏 if you want a break from everything
This was a family break we needed from busy lives and just before school started. It was great to spend time canoeing and checking nature out at the beach. We enjoyed giving the kids a chance to take charge of rowing and navigating the waters. Watch out for the tide if you don’t want to get stuck! Incredible experience picking peaches off the tree and eating them. Thanks to our generous hosts who shared the fruit of their hard labour. The cottage has everything you need as far as basics go (some oil/tea, honey, pots, pans, dish soap, paper towel, extra bedding, towels, a fan, soap, and a kettle). If you feel adventurous, you can attempt baking as there are a few baking sheets, etc. The cottage is fine for 2 adults and 2 young children and it was great that it was nestled in a forest. The setting was relaxing to enjoy. My daughter enjoyed spending time with Surfer (dog) and new addition Toba (9 weeks old puppy). It was super cute to watch Surfer and Toba bonding and playing around. The road to the cottage is bumpy but take your time getting there and you’ll be fine.

Great Place to Disconnect and Recreate!
Had a great stay. Quiet location and close to the Sunshine Coast Trail for great dog walks, hiking and trail running.. Hosts were super accommodating. Being on Okeover Inlet we had access to world class paddling.

What we were looking for!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The location is fully immersed in nature and very quiet. The cottage has everything you need for a short stay. The hosts were very nice and welcoming. We had a great and relaxing time exploring Lund, Powell River and nearby beaches.

What an amazing place to stay if you really want to get away from it all and immerse yourself in peaceful solitude! My only complaint would be that the beach isn't great for swimming (the ground is quite mucky/sticky and it stays shallow for several hundred meters); however, the beach area is still very beautiful and it is a lovely place to explore.

Quiet, clean, and comfortable cabin
We spent 12 nights here to explore Powell River and it’s surroundings for hiking, canoeing, and bouldering. The cabin is very clean and quiet. Cindy and Jurgen are available but not intrusive. Their garden is amazing for peaches, apples, tomatoes. There are tons of blackberries also. They have 2 big dogs who are well behaved and kept any predators off the property. Would love to stay here again.

My new husband and I spent 4 nights here for our honeymoon. Such a wonderful place to unwind, and the cabin was so clean and comfortable. The ocean inlet was spectacular. Highly recommend! Great hosts as well!

Lovely stay on Okeover Inlet
My wife and I had an absolutely lovely stay at Jurgen & Cindy's cottage. The location is great - close enough to Powell River and Lund to feel "connected", but far enough away to enjoy the solitude of the surrounding forest, ocean and gardens. We enjoyed canoeing on the Inlet, exploring the garden, and playing with the dogs. Would absolutely recommend and return!

Very quiet peaceful setting with lots of nature
We really enjoyed our stay here. So much privacy and quiet, immersed in nature. Jurgen and Cindy were very friendly, helpful and available for any questions. The beach was so close and easy to access from the cabin. We enjoyed using the canoe. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots and pans. Very nice to cook there. We definitely recommend and hope to come back!

We had a fabulous stay here. Our hosts were wonderful people and we enjoyed their little piece of paradise for a birthday get away. Every night we were lulled to sleep by the frogs and every morning the birds woke us up! It was ideal and we couldn’t be more satisfied. If you come make sure to take advantage of the hiking and Savry Island.

Definitely don't go here if you're hoping to work remote! I was happy to get a signal often enough to synch the manuscript of my book up to the cloud, but I don't imagine it would sustain a zoom call. Just unplug and disconnect, there's no need to pack any stress along with you. :) Don't bring obligations to the cabin, just let go and listen to nature, ok? <3

Jessica, you did not ask for the wifi repeater to be turned on. We have the gear to increase the signal strength enough for Zoom meetings, it just needs to be turned on.....previous guests worked like that easily. Perfect getaway
What a slice of paradise. While the cabin is off the grid, you would never know it. My 3 kids and I had a fun time exploring the beach (careful of soft sand at low tide!) and nearby trails and enjoying the cabin. Hanging out with the dogs was a bonus! Would gladly come again!

Relaxing and one of a kind!
This hand-built cabin felt luxurious and comfortable. Lots of head space, attention to fine details, huge sunny windows, and dry wood to chop for a hot stove. The kitchen works great, and I enjoyed eating and sketching with a view of the little duck pond. I mostly kept to myself and enjoyed the friendly quiet, but Cindy and Jurgen and their enormous canine beasts were chill and helpful and good for a bit of company. I would definitely stay again!

Great getaway!
Fabulous getaway in the woods! Jurgen and Cindy are amazing hosts. We spent two weeks here, and truly enjoyed the cabin and setting. We even managed to work via wi-fi at the same time (connection slow, but remarkable for in the woods!). Will look forward to hopefully rediscovering this place in the summer!

We stayed in three different cabins on our holiday feeling a bit like Goldielocks. But this treasure was our last and by far the best stop. A full kitchen, lovely sitting and eating area with wood stove, cozy bedroom and creative bathroom. It was a pleasure to spend 4 nights off grid and refocus and relax. Cindy and Jurgen are wonderful hosts whose calm and creative spirits make the whole place a gift and their lovely doggies are such sweet and gentle giants. Don't let that last stretch of gravel road put you off, this is bliss.

Loved the setting so peaceful. Just what we wanted.
Such a relaxing getaway. Tool our kayaks and had a superb paddle in Okeover Inlet. Read books in the garden. Lovely being able to pick fresh blackberries right outside our door for breakfast. Cindy let us have fresh vegetables from the garden and peaches from the tree. Cindy and Jorgen are wonderful hosts so laid back. Bonus having the dogs Surfer and Kiwi to fuss.😊

The Forest Garden Cottage by the Ocean is the perfect place to unplug and unwind. Our family enjoyed the quiet, the beach access and privacy. The cabin has everything you need for a cozy stay. You will definitely want to pack in everything you will need during your stay as the road in/out is narrow and bumpy. But once you are there you will not want to leave anyway- it is amazingly peaceful and Jurgen and Cindy are kind and friendly hosts. We loved being able to hang with their Leonbergers- Kiwi and Surfer- total sweethearts!

Great spot for an off the grid experience!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Being forced off the internet with lack of cell service was just what i needed. The beach area was super fun to explore, as was the garden and surrounding areas. There are hiking trails not far up the long drive (do not bring a lowbearing car, as it is a bit bumpy, but worth it) The cute cabin had everything i needed to cook simple meals and the bed was comfy. I really just enjoyed sitting and staring out the window, or on the front porch watching the insects and listening to the birds, while drinking my coffee, or glass of wine. And Jurgen was a great host! (Bonus very friendly doggos to pet!) Jurgen was very helpful when i cut myself and needed some disinfectant, and checked in with me to make sure I had everything i needed! Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice off the grid experience.
