Beautiful Big Bend Stay

Absolutely loved staying in this beautiful house! The views were gorgeous - loved watching sunrise and sunset over the Rio Grande. The beds were the BEST I have ever slept on! The home is well stocked - kitchen had everything we could want, including the Nespresso coffee maker. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The stars at night are big and bright

Taking my best friend to Texas for the first time, and Rio Brava was a perfect stop for a couple of days. With an unbelievable view and quick access to a few trails. The ride from the hacienda to Big Bend is one of the most stunning drives I’ve been on. Thanks for the hospitality

Beautiful home with majestic views

Amazing stay in Big Bend!

Such a lovely house with thoughtful hosts who anticipated every need! No way to describe the views, sunrises and sunsets from the patio. Loved sitting around the fire pit in the evening and visiting with friends. Great location with access to surrounding towns and the parks.

Big bend adventure

Came down with a couple of friends to enjoy the big bend area. The property is beautiful with the amazing views and all the amenities necessary. Our host was amazing and attentive.

Great stay

The house was awesome…well furnished, clean, quiet and comfortable. Lauren was really responsive and great to deal with…easiest VRBO rental we’ve done. The house is in a great location for Big Bend State Park visits. A bit of a drive to Big Bend National Park, but the route along the river to get to Terlingua is a must do. Highly recommend!

Peaceful getaway

My husband and I visited for 4 days over Christmas holiday and had an amazing stay. Views are breathtaking and the house is perfectly located for hiking the state park trails off River Rd. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed for cooking and the house was very comfortable. Will definitely visit again!

Absolutely Beautiful Property

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. The home is beautiful and well-appointed, offering stunning views of the surrounding areas. The host was very accessible and accommodating to our needs. The home is located right off FM170, offering a beautiful drive into Big Bend national park. Look forward to staying here again :)

stunning desert palace on a hill

We love Big Bend country but the house was the real star of this trip. An adobe masterpiece that's as marvelous on the outside as it is inside. The home sits on a bluff overlooking the Rio Grande and the wild, beautiful terrain of the Sierra Del Carmen. Lots of wildlife to view in the morning and evening coming to drink from the river. We can't wait to return!

Wonderfull Place

Our trip started with a little hiccup. We arrived late at night and there was no cell or GPS service. We were able to get a hold of the owners through VRBO and they got us to the house. Rio Bravo is absolutely Wonderfull. From the decor to the plush linens, this place is very well thought out. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. The views are breathtaking. From sun rise to sun set... speechless!! We will definitely be back!! Thank you, Lauren for all you did for us and being so available to answer questions and address concerns. Cheers

Spring Break at BigBend

We enjoyed our stay SO much. The home was beautiful and exactly as described. We enjoyed the quiet and the view. Lauren was very quick to answer any questions we had. Big Bend Ranch State park was close and we enjoyed hiking there. We traveled into Lajita’s for activities and also into Terlingua. We enjoyed Big Bend National Park even though it is a drive there is so much beauty to see between the house and there. Would highly recommend anyone staying here!

Incredible views, incredible everything!

We stayed at Rio Bravo Ranch for my best friend’s bachelorette trip. What a truly amazing place! The views took our breath away the entire stay. We watched the sunrise every morning and sat out under the stars every night. Also, the beds were so comfortable. Communication with Lauren the host was fantastic. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you for sharing this home. One of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed!

Adobe home with great views

Comfortable and tastefully decorated new traditionally built adobe home with views in every direction. We had our morning coffee looking across the Rio Grande to Mexico and watching the cows wade across the river. Peaceful, quiet and still. If you are heading to Big Bend Ranch State Park, which is literally at the next turning, I would definitely recommend that you stay at La Centinela.

This is what VRBO is all about.

This property is exactly what a VRBO rental should be. The adobe house is unique and amazing. Lauren has beautifully decorated and supplied everything needed for a relaxing respite. We enjoyed being in the desert and soaking in the calm and the charm. We did bring our telescope in hopes of finding a clear dark sky. The lights of Presidio to the west were too bright, but the house actually did a great job of blocking the lights, and the viewing to the north and east was good. We will book here again when visiting the Big Bend area. So happy that the owners have opened up this wonderful home to share.

Amazing!

La Centinela was truly a space to retreat, recalibrate and to slow down. The adobe home is striking, spacious, simple and extremely well equipped. Anything we needed to prepare a meal, to relax on the porch or to enjoy our time spent along the banks of the Rio Grande was provided or within arm’s reach. The beds were extremely comfortable with high quality linens. The bathrooms was stocked with nice toiletries and incredibly soft towels. The large tub in the main bathroom was amazing for unwinding after a long day. The host, Lauren, went above and beyond to welcome us and was so helpful with all of our questions about the area. It was obvious from the moment we walked in that she put a lot of thought and care into making La Centinela a space for desert dwellers to truly feel at home. La Centinela will remain at the top of our list for places to stay while visiting Big Bend in the future. We loved it!
