My favorite guests

My guests that stay in my condo have been returning every year now for 10 years. They prefer to book directly through me, so, that is why I’m entering this note regarding these guests. Every year, we have a line of guests requesting Jan-April, but, we don’t even consider renting to anyone else. Best guests we ever had!

February in paradise, well almost

The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because of the fact there is no screen door on the front porch. Not a problem during daytime, but in the evening there are a few mosquitoes. Loved the king bed . Would have loved better pillows. The view is fantastic, garden is beautiful, swimming pool always super clean. Loved the nice walk on the beach to go downtown to the grocery store. Yes I would come back!

Good spot for a longer stay

This was our second year at Frank's place. The unit is basic but comfortable enough. The view is great and we did spend many hours over the past few years gazing out at the ocean. It tends to be windy here, calm in the morning but very breezy from 2pm onwards. The condo is on the protected side of the complex so you can usually use the small deck regardless of the weather. One thing to be aware of is that the curtains in the bedroom are very sheer and there is a security light from one of Franks other buildings that shines all night. This may or may not be a problem for you, but we hung up beach towels each night to make the room dark enough. The condo complex is extremely well maintained and the people who stay here, generally Canadians, French Canadians, and folks from the northern US states are friendly, but your average age would be pushing 65. It's quiet and there's usually a 5 pm happy hour of sorts. This is more of a long term stay kind of place. I wouldn't stay here for a week, there are better options closer into town for that kind of trip. You can walk into town along the beach depending on the tides - about a 40 minute stroll. That's where the restaurants and stores are and Cabarate has a good vibe you will like. The Internet has recently been upgraded but there is some sort of problem with the last third as our unit and the unit beside us suffered frequent outages, but hey it's the DR so that's to be expected. I'm sure they'll get it fixed eventually. Frank was good to deal with, and Maria next door is super nice and got any issues we had resolved right away. In summary, a decent unit, not fancy, but in a great location in the complex.

Cabarete Orilla del Mar

We stayed at the condo the whole month of February 2016. The view from the balcony was stunning. Located oceanfront, we could see the beach and hear the waves all the time. The condo has all the amenities, it is not luxirious but we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our walks on the endless beach. The grocery store is a 30 minute walk on the beach. Public transport is available at the entrance of the condo complex. Great location! We will return for sure!

Very nice 3 week stay

Beautiful view of the Ocean/beach from the balcony, spent most our time there in the comfortable rocking chairs listening to the surf and watching the ocean waves roll in. Ocean temps were 80+ degrees F and the average daytime highs were also. Great group of people their felt like a big family. Loved Cabarete and walked there on the beach almost every day. Loved Susua even better don't miss it. Didn't need car and mainly used the Guagua, but hang on its a wild ride. We initially had some issues with the A/C and other minor things but the owner resolved them quickly. We would go back.

Spectacular views, very relaxing experience

Me and my fiance set aside a month to explore the Dominican Republic and get in some kite boarding. The condo was the perfect base to do both. The surf and wind directly in front of the condo were perfect for boarding; couldn't have been any more convenient! The town of Cabarete; only a 5 minute drive, offered some of the best restaurants and bars that I have ever experienced in a Caribbean beach town. The complex is quiet and reserved with beautiful landscaping and very nice residents; most from the USA and Canada. The condo was very well maintained. It has a nice bamboo king size bed with a very comfy large sofa. The balcony offers a fantastic oceanfront view and view of the very large pool. The maid comes once/week and is very thorough. Frank was always available by email to answer any questions. We look forward to a return to Cabarete.
