"We were very happy with our stay. The room is cosy, spotless and very functional. The room and check-in worked well, the staff were accommodating and friendly. On-sight parking is available and we were able to park across from our room. We visited family so didn't get the chance to use the restaurant but it looked good. "I don’t usually complain about places, even when I’ve stayed for short periods. However, I wouldn’t really call this a hotel — it felt more like a roadside motel. At reception, the staff only spoke about the city tax. There was no welcome or even a simple “thank you.” Also, the city tax was higher than what was shown on the app. Yes, it is very close to the train station. However, getting back to the city takes around 30 minutes each way, and the transportation cost adds up quickly. We spent about €30 per person per day traveling back and forth between the hotel and the city, so that is definitely something to consider as well. The amenities were also very limited. The only good thing was that there was a coffee machine in the room."

"This little home.is the perfect stay. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. The host was easy to contact via Whatsapp with any questions we had and even came and changed the bed sheets while we were away. The area is very quaint and quiet. We still found excellent food and coffee and was just a few minutes from the train. 10/10. Would stay again. "

"The cottage was all that we hoped for and more. Located in private setting in a lovely area. It was very clean, the kitchen was well-equipped and overall the cottage was very comfortable. Communication with the host Marjan was clear and responses were prompt. We would definitely re-book this property if we find ourselves in the Amsterdam area again."

"This is a difficult review to write because we LOVED our apartment! Until... The location of the apartment cannot be beat! It is in the heart of Hilversum with church bells, shops, restaurants all within a minute's walk. No cars are allowed on the Kerkstraat. The restaurant across the street has a large area of outdoor tables/chairs for meals/coffee/wine at most times of the day. It created a wonderful atmosphere of local hospitality! Problem: it is listed under "Hotels.com," but it was an Airbnb. We were told that we would have housekeeping on Wednesday if our stay was more than 7 days. We left for our day's activities on the Wednesday (we had checked in on the Saturday before), fully expecting the rooms to be cleaned and fresh linens/towels provided. This did not happen! When I contacted the management, they said, "You have to have stayed for over one week. At THAT point, the following Wednesday is when you receive housekeeping!" Ridiculous! We each had one bath towel and a hand towel to last for our 8-day stay! We asked about receiving more coffee pods, toilet paper; paper towels. The reply was that these were simply a courtesy and we were responsible for purchasing more. We had to buy these PLUS detergent since we washed our own towels. We reported that the oven in my sister's adjacent was not working. This was never addressed. So, if want to experience Hilversum at its finest, stay here. But, do NOT expect any kind of hotel experience. Very disappointing service."
