Ramsgate Retreats | Latimer House is a lovely large Georgian grade 11 listed town house, with 2 nearby parking spaces. The house has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and sleeps 6 -14 people. Perfect for holidays, celebrations, multi-generational families or friends. We also host retreats for parties both privately and for corporates. A great place to celebrate or bond with loved ones and or colleagues .
It Includes a gorgeous stylish & separate self contained apartment for 2, located under the main house, which is ideal for anyone who enjoys a little extra privacy. (It also has a separate entrance.) For larger groups we can arrange extra accommodation within a 2 minute walk.
Parking is free on the street, in addition we have 2 reserved parking spaces for our guests very near by. There is also plenty of free parking a few minutes walk away.
In the main house there is a kitchen with 2 ovens, large fridge, microwave and cafetière, plus lots of pots and pans. The kitchen is open plan to the large dining room which has a table that seats 14, (splits 12+2) and is great for meals or games. Down the hall is a cloakroom and a utility room which has a large fridge for drinks, a washing machine and drier. . There is a sitting room on the next level with a balcony and lovely view of the sea and Van Gogh Spencer Square.
Also on this floor are bedrooms 2 (Tiger - 2 singles) and Bedroom 3 (pelican: 1 single, 1 double).
The next floor has bedroom 4 (Butterfly - bunk double and single) a shower room next to it and down the hall bedroom 5 (master - superking bed) with dressing room and ensuite. Next up to the attic is bedroom 6 (pineapple - 1 single, 1 double). There is a large bathroom next door. Under the house is the afore mentioned apartment containing a double bedroom (1- Flamingo), an ensuite bathroom, an orange kitchen and open plan sitting room. There is a pretty (south west facing ) sunny courtyard garden, with a table for 14 and a bbq, perfect for outside meals or a pre-dinner drink after a day on the beach.
The house is in a fantastic location. Very near to the Royal Harbour, beaches, restaurants and shops. There are 3 tennis courts opposite available for rent. Plenty of nice pubs and nice restaurants in walking distance. Great walks (including the Viking trail), sailing, fishing, surfing, cycling. This is an ideal place to stay for your golfing holiday. Kent has some of the best golf courses in the country including the Open venue in 2021, Royal St George's. Also nearby are The Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, Prince's Golf Club and North Foreland Golf Club
The house is Ideal for friends and families, especially multi-generations of family holidaying together. Just be aware there are lots of stairs (it is a tall town house) so not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
The house is particularly popular for big birthdays and other family celebrations. We host loads of classy hen weekends. Equally suitable for groups of friends enjoying a break away - golf trips, walkers, book clubs, reunions. There is something for everyone, all ages. As there is plenty of space no one is on top of each other. There is lots to do within 10 minute walk.
Ramsgate’s Royal Harbour is a very short walk away and is really pretty. Full of cafe’s, restaurants. Next doors Addington Street has several nice independent shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. There is a corner shop and Waitrose a short walk away as well as a fabulous bakery. We provide a list of places, walks, ideas of what to do during your stay.
We can also recommend local caterers and restaurants who can bring the food to you and clear up after you if you want the 'restaurant from home' experience.
