This was a great little place that is only a few minutes off of the highway, in a farm setting. The accommodations were great and it had everything that we needed. We would highly recommend this place.

Awesome aurora

We had a great night in the cabin, so convenient on our South Coast tour. We were super lucky with the northern lights and fell asleep watching them from the cabin. Hulda was a great host - very communicative with our enquiries.

Brilliant overnight stay on our travels towards South East Iceland

Our first night in Iceland was very enjoyable, staying at this lovely cabin. It was warm and cosy with welcoming fairy lights, a kind welcome gift and a comfortable sofa bed. Very clean and tidy with all the basics you might need. Perfect for two people but very manageable for four for a short stay.

Just Perfect

This was our third stay at the cottage. It's cosy, warm, beautiful views and a very helpful host. The accommodation was immaculate and plenty of hot water. We were very lucky to have clear skies, some amazing auroras & snow capped mountains in the distance. We just love staying at the Hekla cottages.

I loved this cabin! Helka was a wonderful host. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and it’s history. She gave great recommendations of what to see and where to eat out. The cabin had everything I wanted and needed. Very clean modern and still has that brand new feeling to it! It was just me on this visit, but I hope to stay here again on my next trip. Thanks Helka!
