"This was a truly lovely place to stay with a helpful owner. The location was great located within walking distance of several hiking trailheads, the village shop, and several restaurants. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed."

"We had a four night stay at Grisedale pike.
We found the accommodation to be warm, comfortable, spacious and welcoming with a Christmas tree and lights in the living room.
The location is good, close to shops and lovely place to eat. The welcome box for us and a separate welcome box for our dog was appreciated. I would definitely book Grisedale pike again in the future."

"Very clean room and the staff were great and very helpful without being intrusive. We had the continental breakfast which was great and plentiful choice.
We used the spa daily, the pool was like stepping into a bath it was so warm and we enjoyed the sauna and steam room.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet relaxing break, we took the boat to Ambleside and back and the girls in the kiosk who were very informative and pleasant.
The hotel is on flat land with lots of space for walking or sitting out and having drinks hot or cold. Suitable for those of us who have mobility problems. Two lifts are available but there is a bit of a journey to reach them as they are situated in the new part of the hotel but, can’t be helped as it would have ruined the grand style if they tried to pit them near the reception
Parking outside is chargeable to a separate company. Blue badge holders can park free if a token is obtained from the hotel and all others must park 400 yards further away with a token but can unload in a space outside the hotel."
"Lovely stay, but hotel is old and tired, think the new owners are in the process of getting the place back up to scratch. Prime location, central to everything in Bowness "
"On a room only deal. Pet friendly large ground floor room with a seating area and two extra beds. Room looked newly refurbished and was spotless throughout.
Definitely recommend these rooms although they are a little more expensive.
Staff very helpful and food in the bar was lovely. ."
"The free parking outside (not in the taxi rank) was great, especially for a town centre. Receptionist was super helpful pointing this out to us when we arrived, as the attached car park was full. Hotel currently undergoing renovations but they did point this out everywhere and was also aware from the reviews too and room was pretty warm on the evening, although they did provide a fan this was the only reason for not giving 5 stars.
Free breakfast was good (despite the not-so-great reviews of it) staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating, could help yourself to toast/bread, pastries, cereal, apple/orange juice, yoghurts, apples/oranges and then order a hot dish from the main menu, we got a vegetarian breakfast which I chose scrambled egg, my partner poached and we got a hash brown, half a mushroom, tomato and vegan sausage. To say the breakfast was free and the double room was £60 on a last minute Saturday night booking, including parking and breakfast for 2 I couldn't complain at all. Good value for money, decent selection, lift in the hotel too which wasn't expecting.
I do understand peoples comments on the communal areas, the breakfast area could be improved with some small improvements such as investing in proper tables/units to lay the buffet out on but also would the added cost for the hotel outweigh the added nicety to a customer experience, i am unsure"
"Absolutely fantastic. Would recommend. Staff are incredible and hospitality was phenomenal. Location is stunning and everything was perfect. Would stay there again

"Fantastic hotel. Staff are so welcoming, Alicia, Oliver, mark, Amelia, Leslie go above and beyond. The rooms are spotless. The food is fantastic.
The spa is so relaxing. We can not wait to come back."
