Rhinebeck Historic Hotel

"While the staff were wonderful and the hotel itself was lovely, we will never be back between seasons. The room was between 75-81 degrees the entire time because they had not switched their system over to AC yet. Their recommendation was to open the window. This presented us with loud Street noise until the early hours of the morning, the sunrise, which made the room at least 5° hotter, and the inability to close the curtains in the room. They also offered a fan but then we were notified that there were no more fans and no plans to get more. If it wasn't for this and the bloodstained pillow (was definitely not our blood), it would have been 5 stars. "

"We’ve stayed at this property in the past and had no issues, it was convenient for our weekend visit but this time around not so. The room was locked from the inside when we tried to check-in to our room; apparently that part of the hotel was to be blocked off but somehow we were given a key to the room. Had to wait for another room. The replacement room had no shower curtain - had to request one; slow drain in both the sink and tub; desk furniture was noticeably dusty but bed was comfortable. To top it off there was a fire alarm so had to evacuate the hotel, apparently someone was vaping in their room and set off the alarm per the fireman. They are in the process of upgrading the hotel so maybe once done we’ll consider revisiting. "
