The city-view rooms really need updating, and they are small. They seem smaller than the size stated on the website. They do not offer any free upgrades as stated on the Expedia website. The restaurants are good but very expensive. Not as good as other Fairmont hotels. Customer service could definitely be improved.

Overall, I really recommend this hotel. About 95% of the staff were courteous, kind, and genuinely happy to help, which made the stay very enjoyable. The only downside was the remaining 5%—a few employees who didn’t smile, didn’t greet guests, and seemed bothered when asked for anything. In particular, some of the pool bar staff consistently looked like they disliked their job, which was disappointing. That said, everything else was excellent: the location is perfect, the rooms are beautiful, and the cocktails were great quality. I would absolutely stay here again.

Our stay here was superb! We had not really understood ahead of time what all was included if we upgraded to Gold Level, but it was SO worth it! We had a private check in area, which also included an exclusive breakfast and happy hour area and access to the infinity pool. You have an incredible view of the top of the Copacabana beach from the infinity pool. The absolute highlight of our stay was the welcome, ongoing assistance, overall helpfulness and kindness from Lucas Pereira (knowing we wanted to include his name in the reviews, once we found out there were several Lucas's who worked there we asked if we could have his last name or initial). We had such a fabulous stay! I would 100% recommend this hotel.

I loved the room service the two young gentlemen were very polite , professional and caring! The ac was so quiet that was a pleasure. The hotel is well located and easy to get around , beautiful beach, pleasant Fairmont’s team . Just lovely. I can’t say enough. I want to thanks everyone that make my stay comfortable and unforgettable.
