Perfect Vacation!!

Was one of the best vacations I’ve taken!! Easy check in and out process, everything was clean and ready for us upon arrival!! Location was perfect with nice little added touches here and there. You won’t be disappointed!!

Relaxing Vacation

We had a great week at Down by the Dunes! The kids loved the hot tub. The location was quiet and easy access to everything. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The only problem was the broken dryer - which we didn’t need anyway. We’re contemplating going back to Rodanthe next year and if we do we’ll definitely rent this property again!

Perfect stay

The house was very clean and well kept. It was the perfect size for our family of four and two dogs. We loved the hot tub! The screened in porch and deck with the gate was great for our dogs. The yard and underneath area was also great. Well stocked kitchen and nice bathrooms. We also loved the big tub in the hall bath. Would definitely come back!

The property was exactly as described. The hot tub was amazing in late sept. It was close to the beaches.The bad part, we had ants all over the kitchen. This was seen as soon as we arrived. There were also exoskeletons on the bed, not sure what they belonged to, but it was a smaller insect. Notified property manager. They said they would get the house sprayed, however, that didnt happen until Thursday of our stay. After we got some small hiccups settled we went to get ready for bed. We tried using both showers but immediately lost hot water. The water heater started making a noise. Contacted manager they had someone come out monday to look at it. Then tuesday the owner had a specialist come and fix it. It worked perfectly after that. I wished the property manager would have done what they said they were going to do in a more timely manner. Unfortunately, they just forgot. With all that being said the OWNER did amazing at getting someone out there for the water heater when management team finally contacted him. I think the ants were about because there was still sticky stuff on the counters. The property is in a fantastic location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby cities. The house was great, just issues with individuals! Would love to stay here again under different circumstances.

House was clean and nice size for a family. Short walk to the beach. Outdoor shower and foot wash was great to get the sand off. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. Location is great if you want some peace.

Best part of the stay was the hot tub. We unfortunately stayed during serious flooding and luckily spoke to a neighbor to get advice to move to higher ground. The property had ants inside and cockoaches outside not sure if it was due to the flooding.The master bed was uncomfortable so we moved to the 2nd bedroom. Its the first Vrbo we had to provide our own sheets and towels or pay more for "the package". We wouldn't travel back to OBX during this time of the year.

Vacation 2023

The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Parking was good. The realty company was very informative throughout the entire stay which was nice. We will keep Surf or Sound in mind for future vacations
