Room was simple but clean and had everything we needed (bonus - a mini fridge in room, not common for Italy). Location near Vatican was super close. The guy who checked us in, Alessandro, was nice and helpful.
That said, the Sunday morning we left was kind of unpleasant. Starting at 7:45am it sounded like a war was happening outside our door with loud talking and CONSTANT slamming of doors and cabinets…and I mean slamming, for 2 hours straight in this tiny place, so much for getting as much rest as possible before our 4 hour drive…then when I came out at 9:45am to grab a coffee to take to my room, I realized it was coming from the woman who was handling the breakfast, not inconsiderate guests. She seemed shocked to see me, and although technically breakfast ended at 10am she had already packed everything up ( I had planned to skip anyway, luckily)..then she told me check out was at 10am, but I reminded her the booking and the house rules print out both said 10:30am…Then she asked for cash for the city tax, but didn’t have change for our cash, then tried to tell me there was no other way until I said ok I will contact Alessandro to figure it out, then all of a sudden she could take a card….
Look, I empathize that they basically run an Airbnb so they only work during the check in/out times and she wanted to wrap up, but ultimately you are providing a service. Adding undue stress for a tired traveler is not appreciated. Not a great way to end our time in Rome.
