Very disappointing for both me and my fishing partner
We never received any information on how to check in to the trailer. We wanted to leave seats from my boat there while we fished before checking in, but had no idea how to get permission or how to gain access. When we sought out information from an interested neighbor, we were told we were not supposed to even have been allowed to rent the space. When we were given a key by another neighbor to get into the trailer it looked like someone had been living there and left in a hurry, leaving food and dirty dishes behind on the stove, counters, and sink. Clothes laying around, bed slept in, blood on the pillow, dirty towels in the bathroom. There was no heat, no hot water and therefore no showers, no gas for the dryer and our clothes were soaking wet. So we used the gas from the bbq to run the dryer to get our clothes dry. Basically, this was the worst experience I’ve experienced.

Cozy Home away from Home
Mike's place was extremely comfortable, and the decor made it even more relaxing. Very simple cabin in woods feel. Only negative would be the neighbor yelling at and physically abusing his little boy, very upsetting.

This is NOT a 3 bedroom home
To be fair to future renters, it’s a 2 bedroom home, NOT 3 as shown in the listing. The “third bedroom” is in the kitchen! Even the for sale sign out front of the home says it’s a 2 bedroom. The listing should be adjusted. I set my expectations very low when I booked this house. It was between 2/3 to 1/2 of the cost of other places in the area. My low expectations were not disappointed. Lots of cobwebs and dirty dishes. The creepiest part was the amount of personal items left by the owner. The medicine cabinet was pretty much full of personal items. The top drawer of the dresser that I went for to put some of my clothes away was full of underwear & t-shirts. All the other drawers were full of clothing that I assume belongs to the owner. It was difficult to tell what linens were fresh and what had been used. There were no garbage bags to use in the few wastebaskets provided. I had specifically asked if there was a coffee pot and filters. If not, I would have gladly brought my own. I was told there was. There were filters, but no coffee pot to use them in. Communication with the owner was non-existent. I got no replies from my messages & voicemail to the owner. It wasn’t until I contacted vrbo service the day before arrival that the neighbor got a hold of me and gave me the access code for the house. She also was kind enough to turn the water on to the house when we arrived. No forewarning of that needing to be done. I doubt we'd stay there again.
