Excellent Stay

We needed a place to stay for a long weekend in February. It was cold and snowy out but we had a nice warm cottage to relax in. No complaints. It is in a beautiful area with the lake nearby.

Location was convenient. Liked the modern kitchen and having 1.5 baths. The bedrooms are a bit tight. The open area is very well laid out and can handle 6 or more people comfortably. The owner communicated very clearly and well. I made a request to leave a bit later on check out day and she let me know within a reasonable time that the request could be accommodated. However, a few areas needed more cleaning attention: the shower bottom walls needed to be scrubbed better there was a pink haze on a portion of it, the floors were very dirty, and the outside table and chairs were dirty and had many cobwebs. So, overall nice property but needed a bit more cleaning attention in the areas mentioned.

The cutest place!

Even though the place is very small, it is the cutest thing and perfect for our short weekend trip. Good quality items inside as well. The outdoor area feels very secluded with the trees across the street.

Great stay at the lake!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6 weeks in this sweet cottage. There was plenty of open space for family visits, meals and games. Ill bre back next summer!

Quiet, quaint getaway

Happy Harbor was the perfect little bungalow getaway from my friend and I. Plenty of space to lounge, cook, and do some art together. Lots of choices for food and drink nearby - walking or short drives. Emily was great with communication.

Nice little place

This was a very nice place to stay. It was small but well stocked and very comfortable. Within walking distance of stores and various restaurants. There were bags of chips, coffee, and the host even let us use their Hulu. We would happily stay here again!

Awesome Getaway

We had a wonderful time at Happy Harbour cottage. The cottage is adorable and beautifully decorated. We were within walking distance of several great places to grab a bite/drink. Owners absolutely wonderful!! We traveled with our cat, Frankie, who gave the place 2 paws up! We will definitely be coming back.

Writer’s retreat paradise!

Such a beautiful place for a writer to tuck in and be inspired. Quiet, peaceful and all the amenities to help me focus. Excellent communication with the hosts—they checked in with me prior to the weekend and responded promptly when I had a question. How many stars can I give?? 5+++ Will definitely be back.

Nice property...great location

Nice little cabin with well done updates! Close to the lake! Fun restaurants to explore! Great place to stay for a quick get a way! Bonus feature...the ninetendo games! Even for adults the nostalgia of playing donkey kong was a favorite! Overall a great little place to visit!

Perfect Fall Getaway

The cottage was warm even with high wind and low temps. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and lake decor. It was quiet, a quick walk to the marina and very close to restaurants and stores. Everything we were looking for - and the weather cooperated with sunshine and blue skies. Emily was very responsive and helpful.

Wonderful place to stay

The cottage was exactly as pictured on the website, getting to the cottage was extremely easy, everything was clean and we had all that we needed. They even went the extra mile and had small makeup towels for me. The bath towels were large and absorbent (which makes a difference when you normally get small white thin towels)! Most places we go to were within walking distance. Overall, this was a very pleasant place to stay and definitely a do-over!!

Great Little Cabin by the Lake

Cozy little place by the lake. Clean, comfortable. Has everything you need for a nice weekend at the lake. Lighting was poor in the living room area and the grill needs replaced/repaired. The owner responded quickly and answered all questions. Would stay at again!

Good place to relax while Airstream in shop

Easy and convenient place to stay for Airstreamers having multi-day work done at factory in Jackson Center (especially if your panels being removed and terraport isn’t feasible option). Basic food and sundries readily available in local area. Host is super easy to work with.

This place was lovely, nice upgrades, cute ascetic! With our family having a permanent homes in the area, we will definitely be back. Happy to find this place!Couple small suggestions for improvement. Couches had quite a bit of pet hair, and blankets for use with pullout also had had lots of pet hair and needed washing. Could not adjust tv volume for main tv - couldn’t find remote, volume was super loud and was not able to watch the tv. Might be helpful to label remote controls.Both bathrooms had 2 lights out. Also would be helpful to have 2 keys.

Perfect for family relaxation

We aren't far from home so I didn't pack much for the kids to do. Our kids were very happy to see a video game console (old school, which kept their attention longer than even our Switch at home), many board games, kids books, legos, and even stuffies. There was plenty of space for all 5 of us plus our dogs. The beds and pull out couch are all comfortable. They provided plenty of amenities including a book with all the local favorite places. We spent hours at the beach, took lots of walks, enjoyed the play grounds, and tried a few restaurants. We can't wait to boom again!

Delightful weekend away

The house was adorable! It was stocked with everything we needed. At one point i wished i had a pair of scissors, found them in a drawer soon after. Everything was clean and well organized. The area was so cute, the neighbors were friendly and talked with us to help avoid issues between our dogs. The check in was easy and had no complications. We didn't need anything during our stay bit every message we sent to the owners was answered very quickly. One of the nicest house rentals Ive found. May have to enjoy it in the summer too!

Amazing little cottage!

Happy Harbor was absolutely perfect! The location, the amenities, the comfort...all of it! It had everything we needed! Listing and photos are spot on! We walked to Fox Island, we walked to The Donut Shop (de-lish!!) and along the bike/hike trail. Another day, after we drove to Pew Island and did a nice walk on the trails, we had lunch at Tilton Hilton (dang good burgers!) After lunch we hit the Cherokee Trail Head. (more great trails) Indian Head Roadhouse and Indian Lake Brewery were great little stops along the way 'home' when we were done exploring and hiking! We had questions about the TV and Emily got back to us right away...as was the case throughout our time prior to arrival as well. She is an exceptional host! Highly, highly, highly recommend this cottage! It was such a great weekend getaway! Lisa, Scott and Nola Rue 🐕

all you need is your suitcase

"Happy harbor" was very clean, comfortable & nicely updated. The owners have truly provided several extra amenities, everything you could need to make it feel like home. All the linens are luxurious, clean & fresh, enough for the whole family all week!! There are several restaurants,stores & bars in walking distance. 3 min. walk to harbor dock for boat pick up also! You could get by w/o a car. The outdoor space provided was so peaceful & cute with the "party lights" fire pit & plenty of seating. Easy unloading your car with parking right at back sliding door. I would definitely reccomend & stay here again. You can't beat the $$ value! "The landing" & "LuLu's" serve delicious breakfasts. "Woodys" (short drive) has the best food & "Indian Head" for atmosphere & Bloody Marys! My husband & I truly enjoyed our stay & thank our wonderful hosts! Cozy modern cottage with great amenities

First things first: Every interaction with our host, Emily, was fantastic. She was extremely responsive to messages, and flexible with accommodating some scheduling requests. (Thank you also for the offer of those garden tomatoes!) The cottage itself is adorable, yet also modern. It’s cozy, but has plenty of space. Loved the kitchen, especially. We also appreciated having access to washcloths, hand towels and dish towels in addition to bath towels. Same with hand soap and cleaning supplies. This was definitely one of the better-stocked rentals we’ve seen. All in all it was an absolutely delightful stay. I have just a few things I’d suggest to make this space perfect: 1) While everything that matters was clean, the house was also quite dusty, so maybe something to address in the off-season? ;-) 2) The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you could need, but all of the pots and pans — all with non-stick coating — were badly scraped up and (in my opinion) not really safe to use. 3) This might just be my hang-up with sliding-glass doors, but we were surprised there wasn’t a safety bar to put in the track. Better peace of mind, you know? Please please take these as well-intentioned suggestions, and nothing more. We loved our time here and would stay again in a heartbeat!
