Every thing was super Clean.. This is a Very Special place. It's secluded but yet 7 minutes from Rutherforton Downtown and 15 minutes from Downtown Forest City with a Spectacular Christmas display ..Very Family oriented. We will definitely be back as we are actively looking for a place in the Area.. Thank you Tanja .. Happy New Year..

Booked the property for trip while I worked a wedding. Messaged them the morning of leaving, literally while on the road asking for the code/check in information and was told that they didn’t have a place for me to stay, that had overbooked and were instantly refunding me and said nothing else. Very sketchy and weird. Not okay and poor communication. If I had not asked them for it again, when would I have known? Everything was fine up until the morning of. Would not recommend this.

Cozy and welcoming

Cozy Home Away from Home

My husband and I stayed here to “get away” from life for a long weekend. We were thoroughly impressed with the furnishings and amenities of the cottage! Just a couple of small things to note for future tenants is that there is not a drip coffee maker, but there is a Keurig so be sure to bring Kcups if you want coffee and are staying more than a couple of nights (we had 4 Kcups supplied in a little snack basket!). It is small, but is warm and had everything we needed to ensure a fun stay. The privacy fence around the fire pit and the porch were perfect for ensuring we were left alone, as the neighbors are quite close. No one was in the cabin beneath us so we didn’t have an issue with excess noise. I was able to contact Tanja easily and ensure it was okay to bring both our dogs (a corgi and a lab) for our trip, as I didn’t realize the limit was 1 dog until after I booked, and she was quite gracious in allowing them! We spent a lot of time enjoying the various hikes around the area and my husband was able to make homemade chili in the kitchen, which is beautiful. The best is very comfortable and the natural lighting and surrounding forest was beautiful this fall. Such a great experience!

Cozy Little Gem

This is our second time staying with Tanja in their adorable little house. The house is super clean and the furnishings very comfortable. The kitchen is wonderful! Lots of space left for me to store my food and Tanja really took time to think of everything you might need to make scrumptious meal. Bed and bedding are both great and there is adequate room for my clothes and luggage.. The firepit is wonderful and my husbamd and I finished most nights around the fire with Marshmallows and chocolate. It was a wonderful stay, both times. I would recommend it to everyone. Yvette

Great cabin, but description is missing some info

3 out of 5 This cabin is cozy, it is remodeled, clean, and nice but a couple important details are left out of the description. If it weren’t for these issues it would get a 5 out of 5. First, This is a two cabin house. There is a separate cabin below you and you’re likely to be above someone. I was a little alarmed to hear noises come from below my space late at night only to realize that it wasn’t storage below me. It’s someone checking in late at night. I stayed 4 nights and the second day a very angry looking woman appeared looking at me. I smiled and said hello and she just walked away. I think she was having the same experience as I was, she didn’t know someone would be above her. I didn’t see her again. Second, this is on a property right next to someone’s house. Like literally, 25 feel away. The people that live there were outside and talked to me. And talked to me about politics. I wanted alone time and privacy… a mini retreat for myself. So unfortunately because of these issues it only gets a 3 out of 5. Had I known it was next to someone’s house and that I couldn’t sit outside and be alone, I wouldn’t have booked it. That isn’t necessarily the owners fault, but maybe it should be disclosed somehow in the description. Another option Is to hang outdoor curtains on the patio and porch facing the house next to you? Just a thought. Also, Asheville is an hour away, I don’t know that I would call that close, but maybe I should have checked GPS before I booked. Again, it is a great cabin and it’s clean, well taken care of, so if you need to be in this area and don’t mind the neighbors, it’s probably a good option for you.

5 Star base camp for a couples long weekend getaway.

My wife and I had lots of activities planned for our little get away, so we didn't spend a lot of time "in-house". That being said it was nice to just come "home" at night to shower, sleep and then head off for the next days events. Communicating with Tanja was very easy and timely no matter if it was via vrbo or text on cell. Would recommend and will definitely keep in mind for future visits to the area.

Lovely, Cozy and Well Appointed Cottage

What a wonderful treat it was to stay at this lovely cottage in Rutherfordton, North Carolina that was convenient for us to reside at while visiting friends who live in the area. This cottage is a beautifully designed home away from home with warm woods, a cozy and comfortable bedroom, a great bathroom with a walk-in shower and plenty of under sink storage for toiletries, and a relaxing living area. We especially loved the well-appointed kitchen with ample storage space and wonderful full sized appliances that was complete with everything needed for a cook who enjoys making home made meals. The owners also went above and beyond to thoughtfully leave us a basket of fresh fruit and snacks and water in the refrigerator, which we very much appreciated after long travel days. My sister and I always travel with our own plant based products, but had we needed them, there were personal care products as well as soaps available to use for laundry and dish washing. There was even a nice stacking washer and dryer so that we were able to launder our clothes during our stay. We were mostly spending time with our friends at their farm, so didn't have the opportunity to utilize the nice deck and grill that was available or the fire pit and lounging space in the front of the house, but would have enjoyed doing so if time allowed. I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at this rental and will definitely look into its availability the next time I am fortunate to return to this area of North Carolina.

Almost Perfection

Very rarely do you walk into a strange place and have a feeling of home come over you. The host thought of everything including snacks, coffee, linens, towels, and even an attractions guide to help you enjoy your stay. I cannot say enough good things about the location, the condition of the property, and the host. The location was central to various attractions and cities making travel a breeze. The property was immaculate and the host communicated well and made us feel like we were the most important thing during our stay. She will definitely be getting my future business and the business of as many friends as I can convince.
