We often stay at the REH. It is a charming, largish Victorian Hotel opposite the Hoverport. Our room has just been refurbished to a good standard. The staff were all very friendly. The downside for us was the food. The Saturday evening menu this time was very limited unlike in previous years. Breakfast was of a good standard but we felt there wasn't very much on the plate for the full English. I don't wish to be too critical as it is a very nice hotel in an old fashioned way and we will certainly return in the future.

All staff are extremely helpful and courteous. The room was very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for the town, the bus and train station and hover craft, however the hovercraft is quite noisy if your room at the front of the building. Good food at all meals and the free cooked breakfast was a real bonus.

Old property that needs some modernising. Windows do not keep out much noise, so woken by hovercraft noise, trains etc from across road, also paper thin walls that mean you hear everyone in other rooms and voices walking past.

It was very hot and they forgot to put a fan in my room but when ask one was supplied, the doors on the outside keep banging when other guests coming or going and the noise from some bikes rasing on the street below my window kept me up a long time during the night but the staff in the restaurant and hotel are great.

We paid for a premium room which was room 34 with a view, it was the size of a cupboard the curtains did not fit you could not close them. I could not fit into the shower and there was no bath the toilet was separate next to the bed and behind a sliding door that didn’t close. The list could go on and on. We were staying for 3 days but had no help from the reception staff or management we would not return to this hotel Give it a Miss.
