Pretty little holiday home in a quiet residence, with shared swimming pool and secure private parking.
Saint Cyprien is a very pleasant seaside town. The beach remained still a little wild unlike Canet where the beach is lined with buildings. It is a family resort.
3 minutes from the Capellans Shopping Center, and about 10 minutes on foot from the beach, the residence is away from the noise and bustle of the old port. This is where the main shops, restaurants are located and where the main events take place in summer. You can also have fun at the Casino and for the little ones, a fun fair enlivens summer evenings. A supermarket is open there 7 days a week until 8 p.m. You can go there on foot in around 30 minutes, by car or by bike. Please note, in summer the car parks are chargeable from July 1 to August 31 (first 20 minutes free).
Right next to the residence, at the Capellans Shopping Center, you will find a butcher / caterer, a fishmonger, a fruit and vegetable merchant, a baker, but also other shops such as: press, small casino, café, restaurants , pizzerias, clothes etc… and at around 800m, a Carrefour Market open 7 days a week from 8h to 22h!
Not far from there, you can walk to the Jardin des Plantes. Near the big Capellans stadium, there is a skate park, an open-air cinema, and a little further on, the famous Aqualand Park which will delight young and old.
The closest beach is the Pont Tournant (which rotates every hour in summer to let sailing boats pass between the old port and the lagoon.) The beach has a lifeguard station in summer and a Beach Club called El Trayou, with sun loungers, parasols and the possibility of having an aperitif and eating on site. The parking is unfortunately paying in summer hence the need to go on foot (10 minutes) ... The sand is quite fine with small gravel at the water's edge.
Many restaurants nearby, but if you only have to mention one, we recommend the Restaurant la Tonnelle, Quai Arthur Rimbaud, excellent value for money: formula less than 13 euros at midday, main course, dessert. All products are fresh and the view of the boats is breathtaking. (here ... little tip).
This little house is ideal for holidays with family, friends or two: as soon as you enter it, you feel on vacation. The decor has a lot to do with it. Everything has been planned for a pleasant stay. You will find there a lot of documentation on the various activities available in the OPs.
It consists of a living / dining room with TV corner, Hifi, sofa, a large dresser and a pantry, a table and its chairs. The small fitted kitchen is very functional with washing machine, oven, hob, sink etc ... and under the stairs just opposite, there is the fridge / freezer, the microwave, the kettle and the Senseo. The bathroom and WC are separate.
Two bedrooms, one downstairs overlooking the rear terrace, with a foldaway double bed for more space during the day, a sliding door and a large wall wardrobe. When the bed is unfolded, there is little room to pass around, hence the need to fold it up every morning. However it has the comfort of a real bed unlike a sofa bed which would have taken up less space.
The second bedroom is on the large mezzanine with high ceiling, and contains a double bed 160, a single bed (preferably for children) and a small sitting area with sofa, coffee table and chest of drawers (cot and high chair available on request). Large curtains allow privacy in the mezzanine.
The large front terrace is equipped with garden furniture, a cupboard and a small plancha (which replaces the barbecue), a toaster. The back one is also equipped with garden furniture, a drying rack and two sun loungers. It is not overlooked and can only be accessed from the inside. So you can safely leave your bikes there if you decide to carry or rent them. You can enjoy the sun on the rear terrace in the morning and on the front terrace from noon until evening.
The house is sheltered from the wind. There is no air conditioning but a small draft can be made by leaving the front and rear doors open. There is a standing fan and a tower upstairs as well as another fan in the downstairs bedroom. The heat wave was right for us ... a nice fan was installed on the ceiling ... very significant!
The swimming pool is open from June 1 to September 30 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is not supervised, so parents are responsible for their children. Not very deep, about 1m20 on the deepest side and 0m50 on the other, it is still ideal for young children ...
In the residence the swimming pool is close to the house, but not too much so as not to be disturbed by noise.
The parking lot of the residence is secured by an electric gate with digital code and remote control. A place is reserved for you. The house does not directly overlook the parking lot, which is an advantage.
Sorry but animals are not accepted. The only one authorized is Madame la Mouette, our mascot.
The house is strictly NON-SMOKING.
LITTLE WORD FROM THE OWNERS:
We are a family of 6. Our children spent their summer holidays in this residence from a very young age and meet their friends every year with pleasure. The swimming pool, the games, the bowls in the evening with the other children will remain wonderful memories for them. For us, the residence is a haven of peace: rummy parties, reading, walking or cycling around the lagoon to the swing bridge, sunrise on the beach in the early morning, sitting by the lagoon, fishing rod in hand, not forgetting meals with family and friends. A real break from the hectic life we live. For a while, we find a simple life, away from screens, video games and the internet. Much to the despair of our children, laptops are only allowed in very small doses. This is why we decided not to put Wifi. Finally, this is our vision of things ...
We hope that you will want to temper the experience and that you too will enjoy your stay at La Marina :-)
Some small details:
- Rentals are from Sunday to Sunday for logistical reasons (but that means fewer people on the roads and especially fewer trucks).
- Sheets and towels are provided (but not beach towels).
- You are in charge of the cleaning, but all the products are provided, except the laundry.
- No need to buy oil, vinegar, fine and coarse salts, pepper, spices, powdered sugar and lumps!
- We ask the tenants to ensure respect for the neighborhood by avoiding any noise pollution. The residence is relatively sparsely populated compared to others and calm must reign ... for the well-being of all.
The same goes for parking spaces. It is forbidden to park at the neighbors!
