Fabulous location, managed to capture a few shots within a short break in terrible weather.
This shot shows where the wheelhouse used to be.
Just outside of Salen on the Isle of Mull in Scotland lies this group of broken down fishing boats. Boats that once sailed (or motored) proudly along the waters surrounding the island have outlived their usefulness and have been abandoned to their fate and to the elements. Such is the way of life. Even in their heydays, the boats still serve as a great subject in a wide variety of compositions. On this day, I happened to chance upon a great sunset but I can see this location as being equally appealing (in a foreboding sense of the word) during a foggy day. The dynamic range of the Nikon D750 has really amazed me - this is a single shot exposure with no filters and the camera could capture the entire scene without blowing up or under exposing any part of the scene. Other than some saturation adjustments and spot corrections, the image has simply been touched up to bring out the shadows and tone down the highlights. #colorful #goldenhour #weekend #abandoned

Our stay at the hotel was very nice, room was comfortable and the staff extremely pleasant. we did make a comment re our evening meal but hear no more about it (lasagne was dry) i have attempted to make contact with the hotel by phone since our stay on the 14th February but no one seems to pick up ...

We stayed in ‘The Bothy’ at Artun. Mrs Cameron met us and made us feel welcome. The position of the Bothy was good for us as it was close to the loch and we saw an otter. We enjoyed the peaceful setting. Thank you.
