nice and well maintained hostel
I checked in at around 3pm on Monday and the staff was helpful to inform me a free dinner at 7pm and show me the public parking garage nearby, that allows me to park until 1pm the next day for $25. It was quiet at night. I was able to have a good night sleep. Public restrooms and showering rooms were clean. The only thing I want to suggest is that the ladder for upper bunk bed could be a bit lower for easier climbing. Overall, I enjoy staying at the hostel.

Good for short stay
Staff are friendly. The Hostel can be easily accessed from the Bart Powell St. Station/ Union Square. The dorm looks a bit old and not super clean but IMO it is acceptable.

当时订购的是10人合住的那种房间，上下铺的。比较安静，还有免费早餐。东西放在房间也比较安全，没人配备了一个放东西的柜子，不过得自己买锁。总体氛围跟格调都挺好的，经济实惠！

非常棒的hostel 因為downtown可能會很吵 但因為這家飯店位子在巷子內 比起其他間hostel在大馬路上就安靜許多～ 房間也蠻乾淨的該有的都有 工作人員也很親切 而且也可以認識不同國家也在旅行的人 很推薦給去san fran自己旅行的人 想省錢求一覺好眠的很適合選這間hostel!

cp質相當高~在舊金山市中心到各景點都很方便。大廳非常舒服，用餐空間也很溫馨，晚上旅店也會有各種活動，櫃台也是24h，但空調無法自己調整是唯一的缺點

I don't like it, yet it's cheap.
It's not quite clean. No elevator. I don't like the shared bathrooms and lavatories. Free breakfast is provided. There are different events every nights. Some provide free meal.

Great Hostel
Staffs are nice and helpful, especially Brian. They provide weekly programs, it's really good for me to enjoy the Twins Peak Tour at night time. They also provide luggage storage, it's really helpful to me. Will stay again.

For the price and location I give it 5 stars. Noise and SF grime and lawless factor in the area take a star away. That being said it is what it needs to be and I’d stay there again if everything else around is > $1000 per night.

I bought two bottles of water for A Dollar Cash each. No big deal, right? Turns out not one, but both bottles had already been opened and were refilled with tap water that tasted horrible and caused my lips to react. You think they could at least give you a new bottle of water when buying bottled water. There was a typical noisy people and such, but it was so hot in the evening I couldn't sleep through my bed of sweat since there was no AC or fan. At least I got three or four hours of sleep before my flight the next day. I definitely wouldn't stay for multiple days and don't buy the bottled water ;-)

Thank you for your feedback. It is simply not true about the water however - I buy the water personally and stock the fridge, it is most definitely not opened and refilled.As for AC, it rarely gets hot enough in San Francisco for AC, no buildings except big name hotels and malls have AC. 50 weeks of the year it is windy and cold!

建物自体は古いですが、充分清潔に保たれていると思います。キッチンがあって自炊ができるので、食費を節約したい人にはちょうどいいと思います。朝食には、パン、牛乳、卵などが無料で提供されます。シャワーの水温、湯量ともに問題ありませんでした。ただやはり相部屋なので、同室になる人の当たりハズレがあるのかなと思いました。最初に泊まった部屋ではアジア系の中高年の女性が「コロナが怖いから窓を開けっぱなしにしたい」と言っており、夜寒く、騒音もうるさかったです。ホステルに相談したらすぐに部屋を移動することができましたが、次の部屋では高齢の女性がずっと咳をしながら寝込んでいるようでした。日中観光に出ている様子もありませんでした。グーグルレビューにいくつも指摘がありましたが、行き場のない人たちがこのホステルに住んでいるのかもしれません。感染症などが気にかかったので、結局別のホテルを予約し直しました。

They are trying, and this is usually a cheaper hostel. The immediate neighborhood it is in is nasty. So if you want a cheap place, that is the tradeoff

Thank you for your feedback. Our neighborhood is OK in San Francisco terms, we have the Hilton to the right and the very exclusive Bohemian Club to our left. But the city does have a lot of homeless folks unfortunately.

Make sure you get a good room on a good floor
I read the good and bad reviews, and I got to experience both scenarios. I was put in room A when I first arrived. Walking into the room it was hot, smelly and looked like a 17yr old’s room (this was a 6-girl dorm)… one of the residents had taken up multiple lockers and they had to have her empty one for me…I started talking to her and learned that she had been in the room for over a year and other occupants had been there for 3 months and 6 months. There was even old food sitting in the window which I didn’t see until later. The lowest rung of the ladder was waist high (I’m 5’) and they had empty buckets to use to climb on. The shower on that floor was horrible, you couldn’t even wash below the waist well because the shower wouldn’t angle down. I complained so much that the next day they allowed me to pick another room. After finding others that were not much better, I found one with real travelers that was clean. Finally I felt safe & comfortable. I also found the shower upstairs that is nice and the one in the basement is standard size and has a seat. The breakfast isn’t bad and actually is actually put out by about 5am. I learned that a large population of the occupants are permanent residents so this is not really a hostel, it’s a boarding house. It’s not in the best part of town, but neither is the Hilton I had to walk to at 6am…but at least here I wasn’t uncomfortably approached…I did have a guy pester me at the Hilton while I waited for my Yosemite tour.

It's not a hostel
The images are a little deceiving, the place is far from being clean, the smell is dreadful and there is a sense of danger behind every door, every corner of the building. Management maybe tries their hardest but the price definitely attracts street people who clearly haven't bathed in a long while and a lot of odd people in the common areas. Even if it's for a short stay I'd recommend to avoid this place as much as possible.
