Our recent on overlooked the beach but the windows were so foggy it was difficult to see clearly. That may be just the way it is right on the coast but it was disappointing.

Room had ocean view but windows were very dirty. They were higher up so you only saw the ocean when you were standing up. The hotel is marketed as a gay hotel which isn’t apparent from the online description.
There was sand on the floor when we arrived and was never vacuumed. The toilet tank valve was broken and water ran constantly.
The beach side restaurant was very good. Nice atmosphere good drinks but service was sometimes spotty.

Overall the stay was okay, but there are a few things travelers should know. Housekeeping was not completed daily during my stay, which was a little disappointing. Parking is also a big issue. If you plan to stay here, you may want to reconsider renting a car because valet parking costs $27 every time you come and go, which adds up quickly.
One highlight was Angel, who was incredibly sweet, helpful, and always accommodating during our stay. The service from staff like Angel definitely made the experience better.
If you plan to Uber around instead of driving, this hotel may work well for you.

The Tryst is known to be a gay hotel, so if you are sensitive be aware. It is excellently located just a block to the best parts of Condado Beach for dining and shopping and it is right on the beach straight out from its very nice beach terrace. The terrace has a great bar, good food selection tables or bar seating and great lounge chairs for eating or sunbathing.They have beach towels upon request at the front desk and beach lounge chairs and umbrellas for free on the beach that they set up for you upon request.This is the ONLY beach terrace with food and nice music along Condado beach.Also, their front desk staff is very friendly and relaxed, they held our luggages for big part of the day after we checked out while we waited for our check in to our next hotel in Old San Juan and let us keep our beach chairs and umbrella all day at the beach. That was a big plus as we were able to eat and relax before moving to Old SJ. Now please be aware the rooms are nothing more than prison cells, We paid a lot of money for a room with "Ocean View". The view was from a dirty small apartment-window so dirty you could barely see outside, there was barely any space for a queen bed and the bathroom was a incredibly small with a half sink, no countertop, no surface space, we had to close the lid of the toilet to have some surface for our toiletries. Also, they had a DJ event on the Sunday from 11 am to late afternoon, so loud the walls shook with the base. Not sure this is a regular event.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. From the moment I checked in, the staff made me feel truly welcomed and taken care of. They kindly helped store my luggage while my room was getting ready and even allowed me to check in an hour early at no extra charge, which I really appreciated.
The team was always attentive, friendly, and very professional. The room is small but very comfortable, clean, and has everything you need for a great stay. And the view from the hotel… absolutely stunning, easily a 1000/10.
The restaurant was also delicious — everything I tried was fantastic.
I would definitely stay here again.

Never stay at this property again last minute family death they wouldn’t give me my money back. They don’t care anything about the people that stay at the hotel. It’s just a money grab never ever stay at this place.

Solid 3 star hotel. Room is need of some tlc. The rug in the room was sticky and stained. Dresser drawers and closet door didn’t shut properly and my sheet had a smudge of what looked like a fecal stain. Requested a safe with my room selection received a broken safe never replaced.
The plus side: Staff very polite and accommodating. Thanks Angel and Mistrer for everything, great advice for food and excursions. The room was reasonably priced compared to similar hotels in fact they’re about 25% cheaper than their competitors. Overall, a nice visit.

I stayed for 6 nights at The Tryst Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and once again it did not disappoint. The rooms were clean and neat, just like last year, which I really appreciate. It’s always great coming back to a place that keeps its standards high.
The staff was amazing — very helpful, professional, and polite throughout our entire stay. They truly make you feel welcome and taken care of.
The hotel is very gay-friendly, and you can absolutely feel that comfortable, relaxed vibe. It’s a great place for gay travelers who want to feel at home while enjoying San Juan.
I would definitely stay here again!

This is the most difficult hotel to give some rating. Room was very small as everything else in it; for almost $400/day, it is very expensive. My wife and I stay here 8 days; although, our experience here was ok, we are not planning to comeback to this property. They promote this hotel and full refrigerator, but the refrigerator is very tiny, about 16"x16". Good and bad staff, some staff very nice polite, but some staff were rude. We requested to only service our room every other day which the cleaning girls were fabulous, but when we as for water the day that the service was not clean, the man in the front desk was very rude and told us that we were drying-out his office refrigerator. We never ask for water again as is the only thing that this hotels includes.
