The facility and rooms are clean, and the staff is very polite. The morning breakfast team did an excellent job keeping food and coffee well stocked while keeping the dining area tidy. The hotel is also in a great location, just a few minutes from the park and just a short drive to several restaurants.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had, with fresh mini quiches, fresh cut fruit, fresh oatmeal (not instant), sausages and eggs. It had something for everyone. The fitness center was nicely sized and well equipped and maintained. The pool was small but adequate. Everything was extremely clean. The only thing that almost ruined the whole stay was the beds. They were way too soft, and I actually had the worst night's sleep I've ever had in my life.

The location was good for going to Cedar Point. The pool was much smaller than looked in posted picture, water very cold. The eggs were cold and waffles stuff. We weren’t given enough towels for listed 5 in the suite. We had to ask for blankets. The pull out couch had a very noisy metal frame. The room temperature thermostat did not work accurate, the cooling/heating unit made a loud rattling noise all night long-started at 10pm so too late to get maintenance service. I was billed $40 extra at check in said was a required security deposit-not mentioned in reservation process, staff said if no issues with room after check out would get a refund to credit card in 10 days. I spoke with hotel manager about these issues upon check out. She just said sorry, made no offer to make compensation to the negative hotel stay.

Outstanding King Room. Stayed at Cedar Point Express first 3 nights which was also fine and had the deals staying on property but the Fairfield was a significantly nicer room/hotel. Area was meh… just a strip mall neighborhood, but I suppose that provides a lot of options. Free breakfast saves a lot if you’re with family. Hotel felt very new with nice, useful exercise equipment. Pool clean and well maintained but small. Would specifically seek out to stay here again. Adult couple no kids here for Cedar Point

The room I was assigned had a faulty AC/Thermostat, it would not go below 74 degrees. The front desk sent a repairman that said the thermostats are starting to go bad and did an override to control on the unit itself. Within 5 mins of him leaving, the AC unit turned completely off. I asked the front desk for a room change, as it was in the middle of a heat wave and we selected this hotel specifically because we knew it was a newer property (there is slim pickings in Sandusky for hotels that dont fall into 'motel' category). The front desk moved us to another room, which was a larger suite, which was not needed, but appreciated. The AC worked fine in the new room, and the rest of the stay was completely fine! Hopefully they repair the first room, and proactively repair/replace thermostats if they are starting to go bad.
